Does anyone know whether a 12 year old can go into the rainforest room or have any of the spa treatments? My DD wants to save her money for the spa!

When wewere on the ship it was not for under 18 but on certain days had a "teen" package that was advertised in the daily navigator (manicure and pedicure and did not include rainforest room). Not sure if it has changed since then (2001).

Thanks Limmer, I was feeling pretty dumb for posting my question because afterwards - I looked on the Disney site and its listed for adults only!

No big deal. There is a lot of info to absorb and remember. She should keep her eye out for those specials if she has her heart set on the spa. Maybe is someone has recent navigators you can see if there was ages listed on the specials. I believe spa specials were listed on the back page, but that was a long time ago.

Perhaps the day before you leave you can schedule an extra "vacation" day and call a local spa for a "mother daughter spa day." My own isn't old enough yet, but I like to take my spa day the day before we travel. That way I'm manicured and pedicured before I slip into my sandals the first day, my body's been sugar buffed and waxed for the swimsuit - and its a LOT cheaper.

Someone else posted about this and I checked my Navs from last weeks cruise.

The Teen Spa treatment was not listed in the Nav. My DD has done this several times and it is great. However, my suggestion would be to call or go to the Spa after you board to see if they are going to offer it as a special or if they would book it for you....as something special. It never hurts to ask.

I had to ask about the teen spa package when I cruised with my 17 year old DD. I don't know why it's not listed, but they did have it.

the ship spa is extremely expensive for what you get..
your daughter will get much more bang for her buck if you go to a spa at home....

A word of caution, the teen club is defined by the ship as 13-17 but the spa taster for teens has a higher age minimum - I think 15 (my daughter was 13 and disappointed)

What the heck is a sugar buff!!!! :flower:

On our sailing they did have a "mother-daughter" manicure/pedicure at one time during the ship, and my daughter is 8.

Call them when you get onboard.

The info about the teen time is in the Teen Navigator in very small print at the bottom of the page.

We did the Eastern so it was on St. Martin and St. Thomas days. 8am-8pm. It appears that they are scheduled on port days.

Choices 1) mini facial and mini manicure incl a French hand spa treatment for 1 hour $69.

2) mini facial and mini pedicure with energizing mask for the feet 1 hour $69.

It does not specify an age, but the teen navigator is for 13-17, so I don't know if there is an age minimum.

Hope this helps.
