Hello everyone :) I am new to the disboards but have been an avid listener to Pete and his team for about a year now... I am going back to Disney this March and need input on my reservations...

I have reservations at Senses Spa (Grand Floridian at 3:30pm for a 2 hour massage) and a 7:30 dinner reservation at the California Grill at the Contemporary.

My questions is: Do I have time (if I take a cab) to go back to my resort (Art of Animation) when I leave Senses around 6 to go shower and change and then take another cab to the Contemporary for my 7:30 reservation?

Any tips or suggestions is greatly appreciated, thank you. :)

Maybe? Depends on how long you take to shower/change and your luck with cabs. For me, I'd be stressed about time which would undo the whole point of the massage... can you move it up an hour to 2:30 (or even 3 would cushion it a bit more.)

I tried but there are no other times available. I also tried to get a 8-8:30pm reservation at the California Grill but I hear that's almost impossible. Thank you for posting back CarrieR

Give yourself time to enjoy the relaxation room after your massage! The heated tile loungers and the jacuzzi are heavenly!

I haven't used the spas at WDW, but I was thinking there were showers in the spa locker rooms. Could you bring your clothes for dinner, and get ready for dinner after your massage at the spa, then take the monorail over to the Contemporary.

I was thinking of doing that as an option...that would mean carrying around a bag to dinner at the California Grill... is that something I want to do though? Plus I was panning on spending my morning at MK that day... am I planning too much for one day?

If your going to keep the times for both reservations, I would do what Maggie'sMom suggested. Relax after your massage, shower, get dressed and maybe sit in the GF lobby for a bit listening to the piano. Then head over to CR on the monorail. Way less rushing, much more relaxing !

Thank you guys... I think that's the best option. I didn't think about it before. I will bring a bag and shower/change at the Spa. I hear the California Grill has a dress code, I've never been. Is that true?

The dress code is more of a suggestion than an enforced rule. You will see people wearing anything from park attire (shorts/t-shirts) to jackets/slacks and cocktail dresses. I typically wear a sundress with sandals and DH and DS9 wear nice khaki shorts and a polo shirt.

Thank you so much! I was thinking of wearing just that ... comfortable sun dress and sandals but didn't know if it was ok.

You can also checkin early and enjoy the extras at the Spa. I am pretty sure they have hair dryers. I know they have shower toiletries. I would bring clothes to change and get ready at the Spa. The Spa would probably hold your bag for you. I bet California Grill would also hold onto your bag during dinner.

You can shower and change at the spa.
