Soymilk in restaurants, how can I check?

My 2 year old is dairy sensitive and at home drinks soymilk. I have read on here that you can request soymilk at sitdown restaurants. Does anyone know how I can check or request that soymilk be available?

When you made your ADRs, did you specify that your 2 yr old had sensitivities? If so, it should be on your reservation and they'll know in advance. Still want to request it specifically, but they'll know ahead of time. If not, it shouldn't be a big deal, just mention it to your waiter/waitress. I'm lactose intolerant and I noticed that the counter services at the resorts had Silk Soymilk, which of course I didn't notice until the last day!!!

That's an excellent suggestion. I think the one they sell is one that is shelf-stable too.

Oh thanks! I would have never though of going to that board!

And she isn't that sensitive. She can eat small amounts of dairy and the amount in food is usually OK. But large glasses of milk disagree with her.

We are planning to buy some shelf stable soymilk for the room and to carry around. But if they will provide it in the restaurants, then that would be more convenient than having to carry it around.

is pretty good on all dietary needs. At one time, and maybe still, the Plaza served some ice cream made from rice. It wasn't displayed but could be requested.

If you feel you must know ahead of time if they will provide soy milk because you'd prefer not to carry it with you (I think that's what I'm getting from your posts), the only suggestion I can make is to contact the restaurants directly (NOT through WDW-DINE). If you run the restaurant names through a search engine like Google you can probably find direct phone numbers for each restaurant. Soy milk is probably not going to be featured on the menus and you won't know if they have it from checking the menus.

I've run across a few fairly recent reviews that mentioned both rice and soy based ice creams available at places through Disney. I was very excited to see that the rice cream option is available at a couple of places because IMHO it's far superior to the soy.
