Soy & Peanut Allergy

My soon to be stepdaughter is allergic to Soy & Peanuts. We are having our rehearsal dinner at Olive Garden, does anyone know what menu items she may be able to have or does anyone have any experience with allergies at Olive Garden? Thanks!!!

I would call the Olive Garden a few days before and inform them of the allergies. They should be more than willing to let you speak with the cook and go over the menu. With enough notice they can make any necessary changes.

I think some of the answer might be in how allergic your stepdaughter is to soy and peanuts. My son is so allergic to peanuts that he only has to touch them to have a severe (911) type of reaction.

For peanut allergies there is a good bulletin board discussion group at http://www.peanutallergy.com/bbpage.htm You can do a search there on Olive Garden and will find that many folks with PA kids trust that restaurant although their responses on the corporate level are less than reassuring (no guarantees at least). That is just for peanut though - not soy.

Olive Garden uses pine nuts in their some of their entrees and even if you order something doesn't have them, your step-daughter's food could be cross-contaminated. This is probably ok if she is not allergic to any tree nuts, but I thought you might need to be aware of this. My daughter is peanut and tree nut allergic, so we don't eat at Olive Garden with her.
