Is one much better than the other as far as nutrition? I've never had soy milk but was thinking of giving it a try. Any brands that are really good?

Silk Very Vanilla is yummy. :) Silk is the best tasting brand I've got so far.

My dd drink solely soy milk she gets bad rashes and bms when drinking cows milk.

Soy milk has iron and skim milk does not or its so minimal it doesn't even reach the 1% range. Also packed with protein too and is usually supplemented with Vit D and other things needed to help absorb calcium. Als B12 another good vitamin. :)

Also almond milk is very high in calcium and pretty yummy but try different brands some are grainy. Almonds are naturally pretty high in calcium too. So eating them raw is great too if your trying to keep calcium up. :)

Ive done a little research on cows milk since my dd can't have it. I have found that after 2 years our bodys stop producing lactase needed for digeting cows milk. Most people hold onto a little store so they are fine drinking it but I too have a mild lactose intolerance like my dd. I have always done okay with skim but before then it was just avoiding. My future children will be breastfed as long as possible and to as close to 2 years as they will go then i will do soy milk regardless of lactose problems or not. :)

Trader Joe's has good prices on soy milk and it is good. We like the vanilla or chocolate. My dd 6 takes it to school in her lunch every day - she has the same problems as Zoe, but has proabably out grown them But now she has npo taste for cow milk. We use rice dream on cereal. She does eat other dairy though - like ice cream, pudding, etc. Anyway, do your research on soy - there are lots f great benefits for women.

I LOVE soy milk. I will never have cow's milk again. I do eat other dairy products (yogurt, ice cream, cheese, etc.). But to me the taste and texture of soy milk beats cow's milk hands down. I, too, have found Silk to be the best.
