I will be traveling with my 18 month old DS next February. He is allergic to milk. Will I be able to bring a sippy cup of soy milk for him? It also comes in unrefrigerated boxes, would I be able to bring that?

I know you can bring stuff you buy after security, but I have my doubts that I will be able to buy soy milk in the airport.

Anyone know?

I haven't flown recently, so I'm not sure of what they will allow you to bring on the plane.
I had a terrible experience with milk before a flight. I gave it to my son, almost 2, before the flight, and on the flight he must have not been feeling well and vomited all over. So you can only imagine, the horrible smell of curdled milk...yuck. and being stuck in such a tiny area, with nothing but baby wipes to clean him up.
So every time after that, I let him have a little at home before we left, but then he got watered down juice for the flight...like apple juice..
have fun on your trip, and good luck with your flight.

My experience with sippies and that of my SIL an such is 50/50 - sometimes they make you dump it other times it clears. If you must have the soy during the trip then I would suggest putting it in a baby bottle and if your son no longer uses the bottle then pour it into a sippy after security. I use frozen grapes or carrots in a cooler to keep things cold as you can't bring ice packs.

OTOH - as the PP mentioned if you can get by on the flight with a clear juice like apple or even water this is what we did with the kids. Soy, milk or dairy won't make a child sick but if they do get airsick it "complicates" things if you know what I mean.

Here is the link to the TSA and traveling with liquids and children - we check it often prior to a flight :)

Ah. I guess I am being a little silly. He can certainly go three hours without any soy milk. I think I just saw that people were having to dump stuff and I panicked! :)

Thanks for posting the TSA site, I never thought to look at that. I used to fly all the time, but it was years ago. So much has changed!

Thanks again both posters!
