Hi, I'm trying to get my girls to work out how much spending money they want to save to take with them. We will get them a couple of souvenirs but will expect them to buy the majority of their things with the money they have saved up. Can you give me a price range of how much we might expect to pay at disney for the following things:

pins
a t shirt or jumper
a small - medium soft toy
a photo album
pens/pencils
a mug
a keyring

they range from $7/$8 a piece up to $25 or more for specific ones.

a t shirt or jumper

they go as low as $15 up to $60
if you have the opportunity to do the Premium Oultets, you will find a disney outlet store in both vineland and international drive ones.
Last years collection, but more affordable prices.

a small - medium soft toy

$15 to $30

a photo album

depends on size, roughly $20 to $40

pens/pencils

under $10

a mug

$15-$25

it's very hard to give you a good price range, because there are so many items, in all shapes and forms and sizes.

but the above is a very rough average. you will find better prices, and you will find higher prices.

also remember that in the US the prices on the tags do not include taxes

there is a 6.5% sales tax applicable all over disneyworld (except for the all star resorts, which are in a different county and have a 7% sales tax)

so if your price tag shows $30 be advised that you will pay $31.95

Thanks for that - that gives me enough of an idea to let them decide on a budget of what they want to take with them.

I've already made sure my 9 and 11 year olds know how to work 6.5% so they can work out what they will actually be spending - I think it might be a bit ambitious to expect the youngest to do it for herself though.

Have a look on the Disney store US website that will give you rough idea as well. Just remember about sales tax that is not shown on the price tickets and it can add a few dollars.
