Souvenirs you regret not getting?

I had a friend that was sad that she didn't pick up some light up/chomping skulls that you can wear around your neck or hang them in a window. When we went in October she asked me to pick up 5 of them for her! She was so excited to be able to get them because she meant to go back and get them at MK but never made it back to that park. The look on her face when I gave them to her was worth the time it took me to find them. ::-)

We wear those around our necks every Halloween w/ black shirts when taking the kids out trick-or-treating. Everyone is so amazed at them and freaked out by our "shirt". I even hold it when they get closer and move it in a circle or close to them and them jump. And we're easy for the kids to find in a crowd in the dark! Best Disney purchase!

We have one of those chomping lights. We saw one locally but still every year people are amazed by it like PP said

I wished I had brought a fan from the gift shop in the China pavillion. I could really have used it considering it was so hot!

I regretted not buying a shirt from the ToT gift shop; so much so that when my parents went to Disney a month later, I described the shirt to them and had them buy it.

My DD is a huge Jack Skelington fan. I convinced her we could find a certain sweatshirt cheaper on line when we got home. NOT! Still paying for that one

Thank you!! I just put several of mine into the bag we're taking next week. I have about 6 of these, because by the time we get to China, we're dying. And of course we have forgotten the previously purchased ones. Best $5/6 ever spent, every time!

DH regretted not buying a really cute Jessica Rabbit shirt. Luckily we found it at the outlet store not long after we got home, for about 1/3 of the price! Then when we saw the matching hat on Main Street months later, we bought it right away - lesson learned! We call it the Costco lesson. If you think you want it, BUY IT NOW. It won't be there later.
I regret not buying the other wine glasses in the 'lands' collection. I got Fantasyland, but now I want the others.

In 2012, we went for Christmas. On our first day, we were in DTD and my daughter saw a stuffed Angel (Lilo & Stitch character) and asked for it. There were hundreds of them (it appeared) so I told her we'll wait until later in our trip. Well, we never saw her again. On our last day, I even asked if there were any more available any where and there were none. My DD was sad, and I was upset and learned if you see something you want, get it when you see it.
Flash Forward to the following summer. On a solo trip I decided for some unknown reason to go on Stitch's Great Escape. I hate the attraction, but did it anyway. Well, when it was over as I was walking into the gift shop, there was a display full of Angels!! I was so excited I squealed and ran over and grabbed one. My daughter was so excited when I got home and gave it to her!

Years and years ago, when I was a DVC owner and going to WDW three times a year on average, I saw this really cute desk set based on Mickey's clothes. There was a white glove that held note paper, I forget what the stapler was, but there was a pair of red shorts that was a paper clip holder. There were maybe 4-5 different pieces. Like anything at WDW they were kind of pricy, so I decided I'd get one piece each trip. So I started with the red short paper clip holder.

Of course, the next time I was there, that entire set had been discontinued. There were no more pieces for me to purchase. So all I have is that paper clip holder. I wish I had just purchased the whole set when I saw it.

Another time I saw a Goofy watch. It was a special collector's edition left over from a Disneyana convention or something. I figured "Oh I'll get it closer to the end of the trip." Well don't you know I couldn't remember where I had seen it and couldn't find that darn watch anywhere after that. This time at least I did eventually find the watch and got it.

So if you see it and want it, buy it. You may not see it again.

Our last trip, I saw a Belle mug that I really wanted, but like many others, decided I'd wait until later in the trip to purchase. Big mistake. By the time I was ready to purchase it, it was completely sold out across the entire parks/DTD. And it wasn't an item that I could order from DisneyStore. I bought the Cindy version of the mug to console myself. When my friend went to Disney the next year, I asked her to be on the lookout for one of those mugs for me. She brought it back and gave it to me as a Christmas gift. Best gift ever. So, my lesson has been learned. This time I was lucky because it was something *I* wanted, not my kids. I could deal...and wait. If it had been an item one of my kids had wanted, I'd have been very upset with myself for making them wait. So next trip...if we really want it, we buy it RIGHT THEN.

My most recent regret are the Croc flip flops that were black with a hot pink footbed and a metal Mickey head on the leather strap. Saw them at the epcot breezeway cart, not in my size, and lucked into them at a Boardwalk shop. Passed because they were $50. That was in April. When I went back in Oct, full of regret and ready to buy, they only had them in size 11s everywhere I went. Should have bought them in April.

Going way back to my first visit in 1985, Arribas Bros had a shop in Cinderella's castle. I saw a round goldtone locket with a little bluebird painted on it. My mom got a frosted glass cameo with a rhinestone on it that I also liked. I opted to get the same thing she did, because even at 5 I knew her offer to share would go nowhere lol. I never wear what I got, but 30 years later I still remember that bluebird locket.

The silhouettes they do on Main Street. I was planning on starting a tradition of having one made of my daughter for each of her trips - her first trip she was 4, then 6, and our next trip she will be 8 (notice the pattern - haha). I always get caught up in something else and forget and really wish I had done that, as it just seemed like a really neat tradition to have - watching her grow with Disney over the years :)

I always wanted to do the silhouettes too, but I'm kind of glad I didn't. I'm also glad I didn't start pin trading from the beginning, because I know with those two things and possibly others, I would feel like I had to do them every single trip. I can only imagine how addicting the pin trading is. They're so cute. Oddly enough, I don't feel this way about Christmas ornaments. Sometimes I get them at Disney; sometimes I get them elsewhere. I like the eclectic look on our tree as long as they have relatively similar colors.

I probably would have never looked for these had my friend not asked me to. When I saw them I loved them and bought 3 for myself. We get asked all the time where we got them.

They have an Adventureland one at Disney Store.com.

DH & I loved the large Minnie & Mickey Mouse Tree Farm figure we saw last December... Don't know what we were thinking not bringing that home! :sad1:

Many years ago, they actually sold more of "The Twilight Zone" TV show specific, merchandise at the TOT gift shop. They sold the original series in five, 9 disk sets. On consecutive trips, I bought a set (they were about $100 ea.). After buying the third set, they discontinued carrying them. I regret not buying them sooner.

Ahhh...there are SO many!!! One is a red & black purse that my hubby says I'm getting next time because I won't shut up about it. Another is a shirt that has Minnie Mouse on it. It's been there for years, but last year when I decided I wanted it, could only find a size small. There are more, but those are the two I obsess over
