We are celebrating my fiancees 40th birthday at the end of July and wanted to know if there are any souvenirs that can only be purchased at WDW. I was going to buy her a Vera Bradley Mickey bag only to find out it is being sold on the Disney Store. Any ideas on awesome gifts that scream I was at WDW???

Have a Disney Day!

A lot of the clothing is only sold in WDW as is a good amount of the jewelry. There are some Dooney's that I've only seen there.

There are Pandora Disney charms that are only sold at Disney. A Pandora charm bracelet is a beautiful gift as you can add to it as you make future memories (like wedding and honeymoon!). You can buy the bracelet at a store before you leave or get the entire thing at Disney. Sometimes Pandora has specials on the bracelets but the charms are usually never on sale. I got one for my 50th birthday and absolutely love it!

I just re-read the OPs original post. The bracelet doesn't scream, "I WAS AT DISNEY WORLD!" but it's a lifelong, sentimental gift. Purses and t-shirts will get thrown away. You could also get her some Minnie ears to wear during your trip! Or as a previous poster said, there is a lot of beautiful (not tacky) jewelry sold there as well.

The online Disney Store now sells a lot of merchandise that used to only be available in the parks. Just because you can buy something online, doesn't mean it doesn't scream WDW. Heck, if you're not going to buy something just because it's available online, then you wouldn't even be able to buy an ear hat, and if that doesn't scream WDW, I don't know what does. ;)

The haunted mansion dooney and bourke along with the other dooney and bourke disney designs are only at the disney parks and are there right now! The park exclusive charms are also only at the parks as the other poster mentioned. The other items I like to buy there that you can't get anywhere else are house items such as those at the Co-Op store. Also there are many tech items there I've never seen anywhere else - the design a cell phone case is a very unique way to make a gift you use every day

Yes, but if you pick out the Vera Bradley bag at DisneyWorld, you can scrutinize the way the pattern is laid out and get the one you like the best. Mine has a Mickey head just above one of the pockets.

There is an iPhone case with Cinderella Castle on it. That's definitely specific to WDW.

I also agree with the park exclusive Pandora charms. Even though you can find them online, choosing a WDW exclusive charm while in the park or at a resort will have more significance to your fiancée.

Maybe others can confirm this one way or the other but I had been told a long time ago that WDW-exclusive items had a gold Cinderella castle logo on the tag.

I say Jewelry is almost always a good choice, but honestly one of the things I love that you can only get at WDW (not any other Disney Park) is Mickey Head coconut items. The Florida company that makes the coconut patties makes chocolate covered ones in the shape of Mickey Heads. Yummy. Key rings in Hidden Mickey shapes. Pot holders, Christmas ornaments, pins, etc. Classic three circle Mickey head is just synonymous with Disney.

Antenna Toppers, everyone at work noticed when mine was suddenly missing (not even a Mickey in a yellow rain slicker is proof against an automated car wash).

Coffee mug/Tervis cup/Refillable cups that you can get at the resorts parks or water parks (my favorite due to the size). Something that gets a lot of use and is very noticeable.

I always bring those coconut mickeys back for treats for my colleagues! They love them! (Me too)

The Pandora park exclusive charms and bracelets are on sale on the Disney store's website, I got the sorcerer's hat there a couple months ago. They also have Disney D&B's available, although I haven't seen the HM ones there in a long time.

Pick-a-Pearl can also be found throughout Hawaii. That's where I "picked" my pearl without hearing cartoonish accents and mispronunciation of "San > Ni > Ichi."

Me too. My first trip to WDW I picked up a stuffed Minnie for a friend's daughter who had lost hers and refused to get one from the disney store because the tag was different.

I've also noticed that the quality of clothing we buy in the parks is superior to Disney clothing bought in stores.

Each time we've gone, we go to the Christmas shop in MK (think there's one at DTD as well) and get the Mickey Mouse head-shaped ornaments personalized with our children's names and the date. I'm not sure if you can get these anywhere else but seeing the ornaments on our tree every year always brings back good memories of our trips, and it's so obvious where we got them!

With as many re-sell sites as there are, in addition to the actual disneystore.com or disneyparksmerchandise.com websites, you might as well get her what you want to get her. Those re-sell sites go into the parks and get the "limit" on anything and everything they can, then sell it for more than what the parks charge. So anything could be challenged, but in the MK, they have the parasols that you can get embroidered, ear hats can be embroidered as well.

If you have your mind set on something that screams I was at Disney for her then get it. You and her will know where it came from and the special meaning behind it, who cares what anyone else might think.
