Our first trip to Disney is coming up quickly, and my son will be out of school for a week. I'd like him to bring souvenirs back for his classmates and teacher. He has about 25-30 kids in his class, so something small and inexpensive would be good. Any suggestions for a teacher gift? Thanks!

I went to Disney the summer before I had my own first class (I'm a teacher) I got all of the kids a sticker. I think that they actually gave them to me in the gift shop when I told them that I taught. What about a pencil or something like that? For the teacher you could do an insulated cup (not a mug) or some stationary. Have fun!

How about buying Disney lollipops to be shared with the class for your child's birthday treat? You must check with the teacher about food allergies and the school policy about treats- birthday and non-birthday.

It is a good idea to bring something back for the teacher, especially if she prepared work ahead of time, and no doubt will be helping your child catch up on something.

I think it is generous of you to want to bring something back for each student, but stop and think how much class time will be lost if every child who goes on vacation does this.

f you still want to do it, I would suggest a pencil for each child and stickers for the teacher to use throughout the year.

Stickers or pencils are cheap.
He has a lot of kids in his class! That is one class?

Thanks for the suggestions!
Yes, his class is large. In fact, both his kindergarten and 1st grade classes also had about 25-30 students. It's ridiculous!

pens or pencils..buy the 4-5 packs & break em up

as for the teachers...i got them the epcot coins from around the world pack...they LOVED it!!!
OH OH..i got it...PRESSED PENNIES.......51 cents each(i think) & you can do a different one for each kid & your kids will LOVE making them!!!! they have em ALL over the place!!!

My son was in second grade last year, and when we went to Disney I asked his teacher if there was anything she could use for upcoming classes that we might be able to find in the parks. They were studying Mexico in a few weeks, so we purchased some books and things in Mexico at Epcot.

As far as gifties for the other students - I would do stickers. Easy to bring home, easy to get, and shouldn't disrupt class time too much.

Have fun!

We have brought back the big bags of Mickey pretzels
for my daughter's class.
The are really cheap (as fars as Disney souvenirs go) and the kids enjoy them.

Hi! 1st grade teacher here :teacher:

I would avoid food & lollipops. We're not even allowed to distribute either at my school.

IMO, souvenirs are not necessary for the class....the kids don't need little trinkets to take home & I can guarantee that at least 1/3 will end up on the classroom floor, rather than in their backpacks.

We always bring back nice souvenirs for our kids' teachers....usually a WDW canvas tote bag. One time, we got DD's music teacher some WDW golf towels. He's a golfer & DVC member.

I 2nd what daisyduck says (as a former teacher) and fully agree- I wouldn't waste the $ on the class buy something nice for yourselves!

i have to agree with the previous posters. i wouldnt bring anything for the class. if its food most likely the teacher cant even hand it out. at least here they cant unless its been a party that was told to the parents in advance and everyone knows there will be things handed out.
and anything you buy like pens will cost you a fortune and probably wont even make it back to the other childrens homes. they will be dropped, broken, lost on the bus, etc.
but something nice for the teacher would be nice.

I dont know if you listen to the Dis Podcast but one time they mentioned a cool, FREE idea. You can go to each country in Epcot and have them write a name in the native language. Depending on the name of your school, or maybe your teacher's name, you could have them translate it into the different languages. It might be educational and fun all at the same time.

I agree, maybe a gift for the class on a topic they are on as a the eco-system area at Animal Kingdom, or Animals, culture etc.
Because there are so very any children in dd school and class that will never have a family trip to Disney, it could make other parents put on the spot with answers to why they do not go, or parents that can go to also have to bring back a trinket.

We have a snack bag that gets passed around DS's class, so I was thinking about getting some kind of Disney snack for his class when his turn for the snack bag comes up after our trip. Thankfully, there are no nut allergies in DS's class, so I don't have to worry about that...

I'n not sure what to do for DS's teacher, though...he currently has a substitute, since his regular teacher is on maternity leave and comes back the same day DS returns from vacation. I'm hoping that I can drop off something for the substitute in the office and they can get it to her, and then getting something for the regular teacher and holding it until the holidays...

Darn teachers having babies... ;) ...same thing happened last school year with DS's class...

Our last two trip my DS wanted to bring something back and he picked the big box of Goofy's Taffy. They sell it at the MK candy store and most resort gift shops. Each candy is individually wrapped, at least 50 candies or more and costs about $5. He gives it to the teacher and tells her he brought a gift for the class and then the teacher can either let him pass it out or she can save it for later or share in the teachers lounge.:)

I'd go with the pencils & stickers. Food goes down like it never existed & it's alway cool to note that the kid you had a crush on in second grade still has his gift with him many years later. ;)

when we went last year my Dn brought back pencils for all the kids stickers from the gift shops they gave them to him when he told them what he was doing and gave him small disney bags to put them in I used some of my snacks to get mickey lolipops so all the kids could get one and for his teacher he bought her a coffee cup with his own money he loved doing it and can't wait to go again next year

My daughters wanted to bring back everyone something on our last trip. Friends, classmates, scout friends, dance friends. And while I didn't wnt to go broke, I kind of liked that they wanted to bring a piece of the magic home to their friends. We always do the new Potato head pieces (even though we have way too many---there are always new ones!) So we filled a box and got enough of the little plastic Mickey Ice Cream bars for each friend. I attached a magnet on the back of each one. Nothng says Disney like those Mickey ice creams. Everyone seemed to love them, and I plan to do it again this year. Why not... we are filling a box anyway and you can stuff those in to all the little holes in the shoes, hats, or whatever.
