Souvenirs for 9 and 6 year old

We are planning our second trip to WDW this fall. I have been looking over threads forposts and pictures to get ideas of memorable souvenirs or experiences for a 9 year old boy and 6 year old daughter. It's so hard not to be an impulsive shopper at the parks, but I don't want to get home and think "why did we buy this???" Please....any suggestions would be welcome!

Remember what you find a " memorable" item, they might not!!

At 9 DS only wanted the expensive star wars toys that we could have gotten at wal-mart for half the price!!

Just think about how you might want to deal with these differences. Maybe a few things of there choice and one gifted surprise that you want them to have.

My stepson began collecting waterglobes from different places we have visited over the years. The first time we went to Disney he was 9 and we got one that stated the year (and it was Disney's 25th anniversary). He is now 21 and yes, he still buys waterglobes from our trips. We usually do not get the large ones but make sure each one has the year on it. We even got one when we did The Disney Cruise.

We just let our kids (9,6 and 4) pick out their own memorable items. I've neevr even considered pre arranged souvineers.

I guess my first question was kind of confusing....was looking for those special little things, like I had read that at Epcot in Japan you could pick a pearl ...and have it made into a necklace...that would be something my DD and I could make together....I'm sure there are other special hidden "treasures" like that....that's more of what I'm looking for...my kiddos get plenty of the regular souvenirs..If you know of any other ideas let me know....

Thank you for the input....We didn't run into many buying problems last time because they were younger, but they are older now.....I can discuss this with them before we go.
