I'm not really a souvenir person. I general get things I will actually use. I came home with reusable shopping bags, a coffee mug and pizza cutter from my last Disney trip. This is my first Universal trip. Do they have "useful" souvenirs? I've looked through the store online but haven't seen very much.

I'm a huge Harry Potter fan and have contemplated buying a wand. I am just not sure it's worth the expense of buying something that will sit in a box that I may occasionally look at. Anyone have any thoughts on the wands they have purchased? Are they worth it or overrated. If I order offline later, do I still get the "dusty" Ollivander's box?

The online store is very limited to whats actually in the parks. I have seen plenty of mugs in the parks. Maybe some other people will be along with other items.:thumbsup2

Thanks! I saw a Hedwig mug that I just have to have. I hope it says Universal somewhere on it. Then it's a souvenir, fits my love of HP and also fits my love of owls. I also collect coffee mugs but don't drink coffee. :rotfl:

To be honest with you, we are not souvenir people. But we have browsed around the gift shops a lot.

I personally love the coffee cups and shot glasses at these parks. Lanyards and such are also unique. I also love the clothing you can find at IOA. My favorite are my "board shorts" i got when I got soaked in my white jean shorts. Dumb I know-- white?! what was I thinking.

I really wanted a wand but talked myself out of it for that very reason. My favorite HP souvenirs are my time turner keychain, the Hogwarts trunk with stationery and a glass candy jar from Honeydukes. I also got the golden snitch which I could probably have lived without. I really wanted that Hedwig mug too but they didn't have any last November. Hopefully next time they will!
