Souvenir menus?

Has anyone ever gotten menus to take home as souvenirs? If so, did you have to ask at the restaurant or can you buy them somewhere? I think it would be neat to have the characters sign them.

Thanks
Jodi

We got a menu at almost every restaurant we went to last trip - they look great in my scrapbook! Most of the restaurants (at least that we went to) have paper menus so that they can change them as needed without the expense of reprinting laminated menus. Some of the restaurants had a nice holder for the menu, with the paper on top of it. As long as the menus were paper, we would just ask the server if we could keep it. They all said yes. As long as the menu is paper, I'm sure you won't have any problems getting one as a souvenir!

What a great idea! I never even thought of this. I'm a scrapbooking fanatic, and would definately enjoy having menus. I actually paid for menus on a cruise a couple of years ago, but am glad that I did. They bring back good memories of great food. Do you remember which restaurants you got menus from? Do the buffets have 'menus'? I have learned so much from this board. Thanks!

Hey, I just had to add also that I just noticed your name, Lovespugs. I think it's great and couldn't agree more seeing as how I have two of them myself. I wish WDW let pugs in...they would have a blast!

Last trip we got the menus and had the server take a picture of us with our dessert. We were on the silver plan so we had quite a lot of dessert, and it made for the prettiest pictures. I didn't start scrapbooking until after that trip, but the menus really look great, especially next to a picture of us at the restaurant.

I know for sure we got menus at Spoodles, House of Blues, Chefs de France, Jiko, Artist Point, Nine Dragons, Portobello Yacht Club, and Brown Derby. Jiko and Artist Point also had paper wine lists that I brought home with a star by the wines we tried. I don't think that any of the buffets have paper menus, but we don't do many buffets so I may be wrong.

We have two pugs too! I totally agree about WDW letting pugs in. The only thing I don't like about WDW vacations is leaving my babies behind! I don't think I would want to walk my dogs on vacation though, so I would need Disney to let pugs in and provide pug nannies. Now that would be the life!

I picked up a couple on my last trip ... when we went on the culinary tour at AKL. One of the chefs at Jiko told us that we were welcome to ask for the menus because they are changed every couple of days. He said they just throw them away once they aren't needed.

I never thought about putting them in my scrapbook. Thanks for the idea :)

I remember these restaurants also had paper menus- I took them for my scrapbook too!

Yes, walking them would be a problem. I would need to bring a wagon to pull them around in. That would be a sight!

Thanks everyone for the specifics on the restaurants also! We will be having our anniversary dinner at California Grill, so I was glad to see it listed. It will be a special night for us. Everyone on this board is so helpful!

We got a paper menu of the items on the buffet at Chef Mickey's with our photos.

Ok scrappers here's one for you...at the resorts they have these racks filled with teeny tiny menus for every restaurant. The fronts have the restaurnt logo and inside they list a few of the food items. Very cute and they will look adorable in your scrapbooks!!!
They are free at the counter or guest services area of Disney resorts.

Have fun!

COOL!!!!
I will have to put that on my list of things to keep an eye out for!
I am SOO looking forward to doing a scrapbook for our up coming trip.
I have just recently started so tips like that are very helpful!!!:D

I started asking on our last trip. I am going to wallpaper them in my kitchen. We are remodeling and so course Mickey has taken over and I thought this would be cute. When I told the people why I would like them they were great and kept giving me differet things I could also use. At the brown derby he even gave me two receipes for cobb salad and grapefruit cake and they came on small cards in the shape of a brown derby.

In 2000 my family and I were waiting to be seated at Citricos for a late night dinner. We were waiting on a bench near V&A. The manager came out and started to remove the menu from the locked glass case and I asked him if I could have it and he said "YES". We did not eat there that year, but it is a beautiful menu which we had framed.
