I asked previously about Disney Dolls for my 2 and 5 Year old DDs. Does anybody have a clue how much a princess doll costs at Disney and are they better quality than the ones from WalMare? I'm looking for the ones that they give at the Princess Tea Party or one that's similar to American Girl Dolls or Bitty Bsaby Dolls. My 2 YO DD is too young for Princess Tea Party and i wont take one without the other. So, i'd like to buy them a nice princess doll. Any ideas?

I asked about them on these boards, and was told that they are comparable to American Girl dolls. I was also told they were very good quality, and last a long time. I could be wrong, but I think the Target dolls have "sleepy" eyes (eyes that open and shut), and the WDW ones don't. But, I could be wrong. I got the Target doll on sale for about 12.50, and it's adorable!

Thanks Frann. i wonder how much the dolls go for in the parks? My girls don't have American Girl dolls yet, just Bitty Babies. I'll buy them dolls if they're good quality and not too expensive Do the princess dresses fit the Target dolls?

Maureenmouse,
I'm going to try and send you an email of the dolls I bought at WDW. They are comparable to American Girl dolls in quality although they are more expensive. I believe they were about $200.00 a piece. We got these in a doll shop in the German Pavilion at Epcot. The cool thing was you could pick out the hair, face, eyes, and clothes. I also got one that was already done as Alice in Wonderland (DH's favorite). The dolls are about 2-3 inches shorter than American Girls. The store also had disney dresses for sale. The man who makes the dolls also signed and dated their bodies.

Why not buy a Target/Walmart 18" doll on sale, then buy the pattern (I think it's made by Simplicity) that has Tink, Snow White, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty, and I think one or two more princess patterns included. The pattern is for 18" inch dolls. I don't have sewing ability, but I bought the pattern & will ask Grandma to try it.

I was talking about the My Disney girl doll, but the ones from Epcot sound really nice. Thanks for the link to pictures. I'll wait until we go to get them for the girls. They'll need princess dresses also. Thanks everyone for your help :sunny:

This is the official Disney store at ebay. I found a brunette My Disney Girl Doll here late last summer for $25-30. It was the exact same doll as we saw in the WDW gift shops for $55 when we got there a few months later.

I don't think they have the doll right now (they do have the Ariel outfit with a starting bid of $6.99), but it might be worth your while to seach here from time to time.

It's an odd site, with some items the same price as at disneydirect.com and others significantly lower. Also, some items go for the starting bid and others go much higher. You can combine winning bids to save on shipping, which makes less expensive items much more affordable.

Best of luck -- Suzanne

I bought my DDs (ages 6 and 8) our generation dolls at Target, and they LOVE them. The money we daved on them not being American Girl lets us buy lots of clothes and accesories. I saw a simlar size doll at downtown disney for about $39, I think.

Thanks for all the ideas, I didn't know that they had stuff like that and added some items to my girls wish list for next year. ;) We got some of the outfits when the disney stores sold them years ago but would love to add more.

P.S. I got 2 of my girls the target dolls after christmas sale and I love them. They are princess's that look excatly like my 2 younger girls hair and eye color. (my oldest already had an american girl doll from MIL but I can't seeing paying those prices times 2)

I also purchased a My Disney Girl doll for my DD from disneydeals on ebay. I have to say it is adorable and very high quality. I have even purchased some American Girl clothes on clearance on thier website for it. They fit perfect. You might just post a request on ebay and wait for one to come along. I've seen them as cheap as 24.99. When we went to WDW in Oct. '05 they were 45.00 at the resorts. I think Disney is missing out on an untapped market, they should sell matching outfits (not just princesses) for the child and her doll in a Disney theme ::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo of course!! :scratchin And Disney if you're listening there's more ideas from the garden where that one bloomed!! :flower3: Good Luck!!

I'd love to get it at a discount, but I need 2 blonde Disney dolls for my 2 DDs. I guess I'll have to spend the money in the park. My girls have Tink, Cinderella and Snow White dresses that they plan to wear throughout our trip to character meals. I guess I'll have to get their dolls matching dresses for at least one princess. The pictures should be priceless. Maybe they can talk their PapPap into giving them the money for the dolls.

I ordered dd8 a My Disney Doll for Christmas from Disney Deals. I got it for 24.00. It is much better than the Target dolls, but not quite as nice as an American Girl Doll. The main thing is the quality of the hair. We have one of the Target dolls that's about 2-3 years old. Her hair is absolutely disgusting. You can't even get a brush through it anymore. The Disney doll's hair is a little better, but feels like it could get pretty gross over time. The American Girl Doll's hair is very silky and easy to brush and style. BTW, DD bought the American Girl Doll with her own money from b-day and Christmas. I would never pay that much for a doll!

Maybe you could order your daughters one through Disney marketing! I did this a couple of years ago for a costume and I paid park price plus tax and shipping, but I would think this is much cheaper than the laughingplace. I was thinking about doing the same for the dolls and an outfit apiece.

I was at COSTCO with my mom and saw everyone going nuts over these Disney Porcelain dolls.. mine is of course, Belle.. they are really beautiful and I believe it was only $20 :-o IDK if you can get them anymore.

Here's a link to some pictures. I think they are about $55 at WDW, but marked way up on this site. They also have the Princess costumes you can buy for them.

Hi! This is what I think you are looking for as well...although in 2003 I think my DD paid around $40 for hers. The doll is high-quality in my opinion, and my DD loves her as much as her American Girls and Bitty. We didn't buy any extra clothes for her at WDW but they do have princess outfits available. I was shocked when my DD chose to spend so much money on one item, but she was determined and has not regretted her decision. She has plans to purchase a princess outfit this May. I think the dolls are worth it...my DD specifically wanted a doll from WDW, not Target!!! :)

I didn't read all the replies so sorry if this is a repeat. Last May my niece saw the "My Disney Girl" doll in parks are she was $55. We convinced her to wait to make sure that was really what she wanted. And boy am I glad we did. The EXACT doll was at the LBV Outlet for $12!! She came with mickey fannie pack, mickey ears, mickey shorts, shirt, shoes, autograph book etd. They also had Ariel outfits for $5.

She is similiar to the american dolls at target.

Lake Buena Vista Factory Outlets there is a Character Outlet there. BUT, I went back and looked at reciept and it came from Belz Outlet Mall. It was the best bargain of the trip. We took her everywhere. She even ended up with her own seat on the plane ride back home. DN still plays with her today.
