Does anyone have a rough idea when the tickets will be opened up for booking a December 2nd flight to Orlando? Also, we will be traveling with a first-time flyer who is also a "customer of size." Does anyone have any experience with how Southwest handles that? We are already planning on buying him an extra seat.

Thanks -- Jaylie

Jaylie,

i am a larger person but i have never had a problem flying in one seat. It all depends where they carry their weight at. Do you know approx what size they are?

Now one of my friends is larger than me. She carries most of her weight in her bottom and hips. She books a second seat. When she gets to the airport they give her a special card to place on the seat next to her. She also gets to pre-board. If the flight is not full when they leave , then she has been able to get SW to credit her back for the extra seat but don't count on that every time.
