That depends if anyone purchased the business select tickets. If not, then you will be less than 28th to board. If business select has been purchased, then yes, since you are in A group, you will be the 28th to board. Which is a very good boarding position!!

Only ONE person boards at A28. If nobody is in the Business Select group (A1-A15), then the person with the A28 pass will be the 13th person to board the plane.

Each one of your boarding passes should have a different number. You'll board in this order – so yes, you're right in terms of being the 28th to board, but it's best to think about it as the 28th PERSON to board, not group.

The boarding positions are by person, not by family. There could be preboarders, typically handicapped or elderly. It could also be a continuing flight, meaning people are already on board. That being said, A28 is a good position.

Just back and the Southwest advice was great, was a little nervous, being so use to JetBlue. Got a big kick out of everyone on line checking every one's boarding pass number.

This isn't a matter of "policing" the line; it's the only way to find out where you should stand. I wouldn't want to just guess and end up cutting in front of someone who has a lower number than me. Likewise, I wouldn't want to guess and end up further back in the line needlessly, especially if I paid for EBCI.
