Flights just went up $25 since yesterday!!

Any experts know if it might come back down or should I book now.

In December, went from 79 to 104.

My experience with them is they jump up and down a bit. I usually book a price I am comfortable with and check daily in case of a drop. They were offering $59 flights this summer a while back and my DH and I booked a last minute trip and got the $59 1 week prior to flying. If you are flying at a busy time it's probably best to book as soon as you get a good price to give you peace of mind!

It's hard to say. Last night I just got a $100 credit for my December flights ($25 pp). My outgoing flight went down from $134 to $104 though I booked at $129 which is why my credit was $25 pp.

If you want to take a chance to collect SWA credits and will be flying again within a year, go ahead and book and take the credits if the price goes down. Otherwise, SWA will usually lower their prices about 60 days out depending on demand for the flight. Buying air travel is a gamble.

No change fees on Southwest make it possible to book at a comfortable fare and then change and get a credit for the difference. IF you plan to fly SWA again it's great. I have changed my October flight 3 times since I booked and I now have a $364 credit with them. It's only valid until April though which is a year from when I first booked. This is important to know if you make any changes after booking. The credit are only good for 1 year from your original booking date.

My flights went from 59 to 109 today :( I was booking it on Friday.. so I guess I will wait and see if they come back down. Do they change the price during the day.. or just on a daily basis. I was wondering how often to check the site. Thanks. :)

I found with Airtran, the fares were lowest Tue - Thu. They went up first thing Friday morning, and stayed up until Monday afternoon. I am thinking that is because families are home and they are making decisions about when to fly, etc. They will book on the weekend, or one spouse will book Monday when they get back to work. We had this discussion at work one afternoon, and it sounds feasible, if you look at it logically.

I found my lowest fare and finally locked in on a Wednesday morning at 6:00 am. I called my two friends at 8:00 am, when they got to work, and by the time they booked it at lunchtime, it had gone up another $20.00. But still very reasonable......

I wonder is SWA knows WDW just came out with new room codes, thus raising their prices knowing people will be booking flights.

My flight was 59 yesterday..99 this am and now 109!!! :(

Not sure when to book now or later?

:)

Also remember the price can change depending on the number of seats you need. I just checked fares for October. If I select one passenger, I could get a seat for $122. But if I checked 4 passengers, the same flight went up to $133. Tried 2 & 3 passengers and got the $122, but everytime I selected 4, it went up. So they had 3 $122 seats but once you tried to buy the 4th, all the seats went up. :headache: That's why I generally check the flights and input 1 passenger. That way I can see what the rock bottom price at that particular minute will be. ;)
