Southwest, when does it open for Dec?

Southwest or American Airlines?Taking a cruise from Miami before our Disney cruise/ Land and Sea. I am flying into Ft. Lauderdale from Portland, Maine.

Last year I used AA, before the baggage fee (out of Miami). I noticed too, their prices have gone up this year.I looked at Southwest and they are showing $39 fee from Ft. to Orlando. Is this the norm? Can I use Southwest with ME? What about wheelchair and is there seating and baggage fees? Finally when does Southwest typically open for December?

Go to Southwest's web site. At the top are blue tabs, one says travel tools. When you click it, you'll see this statement: "We are currently accepting air reservations through October 30, 2009. On June 23, we will open our schedule for sale through January 15, 2010. This date is subject to change! Please check back frequently."

I keep checking every few days for our flights, leaving here late November and coming home Dec.

Southwest does not charge luggage fees. You will not get a seat assignment, though. I can't explain how you'll be seated very well, do a search and you'll find how they seat people.
