Southwest Went Up!

I just checked our dates for this summer, July 29 - August 10, from Providence, Hartford or Manchester and they have gone up. They were $148 and $158. Now they are $160 and $170. Yikes! Hopefully we see that summer sale soon!

i had been checking this for weeks. i finally booked ours, just in case it goes up more. i was so disappointed because when we went in june of 05 we fly down for 79.00. i was hoping for that, but nothing. and there were just a few flights to pick from on the days we are going. so i thought i better book now, in case there is nothing left on our days.

Wow, I just checked out of BWI and they went up too! It was $79 each way (not a great deal to begin with) and now they're up to $105!! I'm glad I got a so-so deal with a DING! not long ago but I'm still not exactly jumping for joy! I wouldn't be nearly as upset if Philly didn't have the great deals that BWI normally gets. I'm still hoping for a better DING! before we leave!

Uggghh!! I saw the fares this morning, internet fares are not even listed anymore...does this mean GOOD or BAD!!! I was just about to book US AIR but now I am soooo confused!!!

EXACTLY!!! Don't panick, folks, look at the May fares. For our location, Hartford-Orlando, they are finally showing an internet fare if $79 each way. I don't care that the August prices went up for the cheapest cat. fares (from $158-$170) because they also took away the internet category. I'm anticipating that the internet fare will be offered in the next changes and I'll see something like the $79-$109 each way.

We are flying out of BWI in May also! I'd say hang on. The Southwest fares change daily and sometime even hourly. I got a DING rate of $64 each way (they did have $59, but I'm not leaving at 6:00 am!). Everytime we fly Southwest, I check their rates daily until we leave. You never know when you can get a great rate!

Wow. I booked my tickets for May when they were first released. Paid $59 each way. I had to switch yesterday, and the flight had gone up to $109. This morning, it's $160. So much for being a low cost carrier.

I stronly suggest checking Jet Blue if they fly from your area. If I were booking today for my May trip, I would pay $100 less flying Jet Blue. In fact, I would pay less flying Delta than Southwest.

Me too Joan I am leaving on the 29th and got it to West Palm Beach and have to driving to DW but for it for 39.00 one way and haven't booked the return flight and am returning July 9th (or 8th whichever I can get). I also am not picky as to where I leave from I don't mind driving to Tampa, Jax or West Palm Beach to leave.

I wish I had been able to book when dates were released and paid $59 but work was INSANE that day and by the time I was able to go to SW, the fares had gone up. Saw a DING! a few weeks back and could have gotten $207 RT, but passed on that also. I have faith that SW will come around...

I had that same issue last year.

How long until it expires? Figure, if it's not for a few more months, it'll almost "force" you to take another trip to use them!

Prices seem really random today. For my May trips I first had $79 fares out of IAD (BWI was the same). Then I got a DING & had $64 for one trip and $29 (yay!) for the other.

Today the price out of IAD is $69 (internet fare) and out of BWI it's $105!! No 'internet' fares out of BWI (for the dates I checked anyway), the cheapest is the 'promotional' fare. Normally BWI *always* has the better fare - or at least the same fare.
