Southwest Standby Question for earlier flight

I booked an 11:30am flight out of BWI on August 1 because I wanted to give us time to drive to the airport.

I decided to stay at a local hotel on priority club points since I can leave my car there and not have to pay airport parking.

My question is. What's the policy/procedure for getting on an earlier flight since we will be down there?

Any help would be appreciated

If the prices are close to being the same why not just switch to the flight you want?

Southwest will not allow you to board an earlier flight without paying the difference between the fare you paid and the current fare for the earlier flight. No exceptions, even if the earlier flight is nearly empty.
