So excited to be going on this trip! Quick question to those who have done it -- do I need to pack a hair dryer or do all hotels have decent ones?

We are leaving in a couple of weeks for this trip! Would love to know how you are packing! The blow dryer question is a good one - hopefully, someone will know the answer. Thanks!

We did this trip two years ago. I wish I could answer your question, but I let my hair dry naturally.

I've guessed at it since there is so little recent info on DisBoards about this trip. Basically, a little of everything. I'll get back to you and let you know how that worked out : )

Lucky you! Thanks for responding.

Just got back this week. There were hair dryers at all of the resorts that i remember, not 100% on Gouldings (as I don't use them). Definitely at Enchantment, Red Cliffs and the Canyon. It was HOT. Only cool days were at Grand Canyon. everything else was close to 90. i do still suggest light jacket or pullover for nights, early mornings.

Trip was amazing. I will note that the own your own time is deceptively short in all locations due to travel time from "cities" to lodging. For example, in Sedona I think they gave people like 1.5 hours. We stayed longer and took an uber back ($20). It is hot, but manageable still. Like others have said, drink LOTS of water. and you won't realize how much lotion you need. But be careful as it may make you burn. Also, my lips got sunburned day 1 - that was not fun. So maybe SPF lipgloss or chapstick.

How was the overnight at Gouldings? Do you think it was a good change to the itinerary or would you have preferred the additional night at Red Cliffs instead?

I loved the overnight in Gouldings. Great accomodations and made the day easier. It was probably the longest day of the whole trip. I would actually prefer to drop the 2-night Grand Canyon stay to 1 night as there is really nothing else to do there. THen add back the 3rd day in Moab at Red Cliffs Lodge. That was my favorite locale.

Also - i forgot to mention the altitude / elevation issue at the Grand Canyon. Not many people realize (i didn't) that it sits at 7,000 feet. Quite a few of the people in our group had issues with that elevation. Over-tiredness, difficulty breathing. No one got sick or anything, just had to go slower or modify their activities.

Thanks! This trip remains high on our (ever growing) list.
