So I booked a trip to WDW a few weeks ago using the 20/30/40% code and thought I was getting a great deal:laughing:. Well today I was looking for flights and decided to see what the room rates were like while I was on Southwests site. I was surprised that for the same dates and same type of room as I booked by calling Disney, Southwest was still cheaper. So those without, and even with A PIN my want to check out the Southwest site.:confused3

I could be wrong, but I don't think you can book tickets and dining through Southwest? So if you are looking at a room only discount this would work, but if you are looking for a package, it may not. :)

Can you tell us approx how much cheaper the Southwest site was than the WDW site? If it's a substantial savings I'll sure look into it because we're not planning to get the dining plan and we can get park tickets when we check in as I recall. Thanks for the info.

I think you can with Southwest Travel. You can get the MYW package of your choice.

The Southwest site claims a discount of 35%, since I booked a mod with the 30% code it should be 5% less. However it actually came out more like another 10% off of the Disney price of almost $1000, so about $100 cheaper. I get park tickets pretty cheap through work, and my wife is a vegitarian and a picky eater so the dining plan doesn't work for us, so no big deal on the package. I am not saying the southwest site is for everyone, but since so many on here are always stressing out about not getting a PIN this may be an option for them.

Where did you book your vacation? I'm not seeing any room-only offers on the southwest.com website.

Thanks!

I have read posts where people have booked through this and assumed they could add on a dining plan through Disney or Southwest. And I think that is the catch. No dining plans. However not everyone cares about a dining plan.

Also keep in mind the large print reads $98 per person per night. (For Pop, 7 nights hotel + flight + Magic Your Way® Ticket.) The small print reads "Prices quoted are per person, per night based on quad occupancy..." Meaning 4 people at $98 pp = $392 per night. That's the way I take it anyway. I have not booked a vacation for 4 people. So maybe that is still a good price.

I checked out the site yesterday and most of the add ons. I did see 7 and 10 day tickets. They offered 7 day with 3 day free park hopping or water park options. I believe they had the same for 10 day. I am pretty certain I saw QSDP as well. They has other add ons that were non disney but Florida related.

I posted about it earlier because it helps if you don't have a pin.

I priced it out for our trip, it was over 1K more! You can add dine and you can add tix, but you must get at least a 3 day tix (since we have leftovers from last year, it was a no go) since we only need a 1 day for a package thru disney.

It definitely depends on the resort and the amount of people, etc. For just my inlaws (2 adults) it was cheaper on SW site. But for 2 adults and a child it was more at some resorts then Disney. Hence my need for a spread sheet  However when getting the bonus of the 3 days of park hopping thrown in it does even it out a bit. ;)

All I'm saying is make sure you look around and definitely keep a spread sheet! :lmao: :surfweb:
