Southwest rebooked all my flights yesterday

While watching the Superbowl yesterday, I starting getting a bunch of emails from Southwest airlines. I had "purchased" four flights for July with points. It seems like they cancelled all my flights, put the points back into my account, and then re-booked the same flights using the same amount of points. I also had a voice mail message saying that my flights needed to be changed and they hoped I would accept the changes.

I looked on-line and the only thing that changed in we are leaving about 45 minutes later and getting into Orlando about 45 minutes later. Nothing else.

Late last night, I tried to call the Southwest 800 number and was on hold for 45 minutes before I was disconnected. I waiting another 30 minutes this morning, but had to leave for a meeting.

Has anyone else had this experience? Is there anything I need to do at this point?

The same exact thing happened to me yesterday with a flight I have booked in June coming home from Disneyland. My flight time moved up by about 20 minutes. I don't think there's anything to worry about.

It happened to be about a year ago. I had no problems.

Southwest usually doesn't change flights/times nearly as often as other airlines do, but they're going out with their schedule a bit further out than they used to, so it does happen...I would guess because of airport gate allocations, etc. When they changed the time, did they also change the flight number and/or your confirmation number? In any event, I don't see any reason to call...but, I would go online and view the reservation and make sure everything looks ok.

This happened to me just the other day. I received an email from SW changing our flight going to Florida in April. Problem was, I booked those flights opening day and it was a mad rush to get them! So unfortunately (since I was new to booking opening day, I didn't realize how quick the seats sell out/prices change!) my husband and I are on one itinerary and my kids on another, and they only changed my itinerary! So I called and got right through and they were really helpful and got us all on the same flight. We are leaving about a 1/2 hour later but arriving at the same time. But to answer your question :) I don't think you need to call either, just keep an eye on the reservation. But if it would make you feel better, give them a call and if the wait time is too long try again later.

Same thing happened to us in January, plane left 30 minutes later than original schedule. There were no problems at all.

Same thing happened for our December flights sometime last year. I suggest calling or checking your account to make sure your EBCI is still there if you purchased it. Two of mine were, and two were not. I had to get them reinstated.

It happened to me last year when they changed the time of a flight. I was not thrilled with how late the new flight got in. It was either except the change or book a different flight at the current, more expensive, prices.

Got the call today. My flight in April's return flight from FLL to BDL changed and now instead of getting in at 10:10pm, we get in at 11:30. With an 1hour 20 minute drive home from the airport I'm not very happy. They offered to change to any other flight that day, but this is the only nonstop and the other times are not very good. Still considering options.

They should let you hand pick alternate flights that work out better for you, at no extra charge. This is one situation where asking for supervisors or managers is appropriate.

Does this affect any EB purchase for anyone? Does it still show on ur confirmation?
Our flight was cancelled (weather related, so free change) but
Our early bird/EB for seating, when moved went from A16 to B21... A Change we were not thrilled with.
But in the end worked out.

It happens on some airlines quite a bit when you book early. They change flight times and cancel flights. Southwest does not do it that often. We have flown other airlines and it happens a lot more frequently. I think there was one year that our flight got changed 3 times.

This happened twice in the past week(snow) ebci should be refunded to your cc....

I agree. This happened to us on Frontier 3 years ago. They changed our return flight from Seattle by several hours. Instead of departing at 11:45am, it would depart at 6:30am. This wouldn't work for us since we would still be on the cruise ship at that time. I called them so ready for an argument and/or refund so I checked other airlines times and pricing, all of which were higher than what we paid. The lady on the phone was so sweet and offered to put us on another airline's flights.(United) It was good that I had researched this prior to calling so I knew exactly which flight I'd want.:thumbsup2
Of course SWA doesn't share with other airlines but still they should offer another flight that would work for you. 45 mins is a pretty big change. 10-15 mins not so much. ;)

...

That is quite odd, as Frontier does not have interline agreements with other airlines. This should not have happened.

I would also check to make sure that the flight number didn't change. SW moved both of my flights a couple of weeks ago. The departure flight moved to 45 minutes later, but kept the same flight number. The return flight was changed twice (ultimately moved an hour and a half earlier) and the flight number only changed once. I had to call Magical Express to change the flight number. They told me that as long as the flight number stays the same, they get updates from the airlines as to arrival/departure times.

This was our first and only experience with them. Not only did they move us to a United flight but that flight also changed to a very long connection which would have resulted in us getting home at midnight. In the meantime USAirways added a non stop to their schedule that wasn't there before. So I simply called Frontier again and told them the United flight won't work for us so they changed us to the USAirways flight. No problems. Even got to earn Dividend Miles for our flight.

This happened to me as well with some flights last week. They have to tell you if the times moved from what you booked. If the times still are ok for you there is nothing you have to do though.

OP here. It happened again yesterday. My reservation was cancelled and rebooked. I called Southwest and waited on hold until someone finally picked up 37 minutes later. The agent said she could see who Had accessed the reservation, but that there was no paper trail that any change had been made. She put me on hold to talk to a supervisor. When she came back on the line she said both she and her supervisor could not see ant change to the reservation. So no closure for me!
