The price of my return flight went down but there is only 1 seat available at the lower price. I have 2 people on my reservation. How do I get the credit for the 1 seat? I am sure there is a way to do this. Please help!!

Call southwest

OK Thanks. Yeah I called and they broke the reservation into 2 Conf #'s so I could re-book. So that worked. But I thought there was a way to do it without calling.

Just be aware that now that you've called them and they've made the change over the phone that you can no longer modify it online. If the price goes down again, you'll have to call them again to get the price adjustment. It's a pain in the butt and I'm not sure why their system is set up that way.

Can I just say how much I miss the original Jonathan!!

I did at first, too but I like the new one better now.

Wow!! Are you sure? I have a new conf #. Can't I just enter it in the change flight section online to make changes? Does it affect anything else? Online check in? Is the original ticket which is still on the original conf# affected too?

You can try it. I have a new confirmation number as well but when I try to enter it, it tells me I need to call. When I called last time the price dropped, I asked the CSR about it. They said whenever you call and they have to modify a reservation it changes it in their system from one you booked online to one they assisted you with booking.

When we had issues using travel funds towards 2 of my family members tickets, we had to call to get it all straightened out. After that, I was unable at first to change their flights in anyway without having to call. But then a few weeks later, I was able to add both of their confirmation numbers to my saved "trip" in my Southwest account and can now make any changes again for both of them online. I hated the whole having to call thing (although love that they are open 24 hours when we are having issues) so I am so glad that I can make changes or grab cheaper rates and add the credits to their travel funds myself again now.

I will have to try that. Thanks! It is a PITB having to call them if I need to make changes.

Hope it works for you!! I was able to make changes to both of the flights that we originally had issues with online again tonight when the fares went down a little bit. I just go under the My Trips or My Travel or whatever it is called section and once I added their flights in, everything has been fine.

Can I ask how you added them to your saved trip? I don't see anywhere to add a confirmation number. ? Thanks!

That's a good question but not sure I remember. LOL I know there is a Look Up Flight/Add Flight Section so that might have been it. For the longest time, I only had 6 out of our 8 individual flights showing because 2 of the return flights had been adjusted over the phone and no longer could be changed online. But then somewhere on the website allowed me to add them back to My Trip.

I am on the site now trying to figure out how I did it but without an actual flight to try and add, I am not positive if that Find A Flight box is what I used. If you want to try it go under My Trips, then go under Upcoming, and you should see Find A Flight pop up.

Well, my flight went down again. Using the new conf number which was saved in my saved trips, I made the changes online but when I hit enter I received an error which said I needed to call. So it didn't work for me. The agent said once they are in the reservation, you have to call. I agree it is a pain having to call.

Who is Jonathan?
Jonathan is the name of the husky in my avatar (new as of 2013).

I lucked out. When I went to change our flights again I was sure I was going to have to call. I signed into my Southwest account and low and behold I could change everything in there. No call! Try signing into your account and changing through there.
