Is there any reason to enroll in Rapid Rewards if there is absolutely no way you will accumulate 16 credits in one year? Are there any other advantages?

if you are going through a "transfer" point. you can get your boarding pass up to four hours before a flight by going to one of the "kiosks" ... but there are some restrictions too .. and you have to have ticketless

we used it the other day coming back from norfolk in baltimore....rather than having to wait for the "desk" to open at the gate......figure we got A ...if we had to wait to check in at the desk it probably would have been B or C

With the specials SWA sometimes offers, why not? We joined last year even though I wasn't familiar with the program (I just always join the frequent flyer program) Anyway, we went Dec 01 and Mar 02, and then SWA came out with a discounted flight to BWI and we had to go to my nieces graduation so we flew instead of drove. That made three and "forced" us to go to WDW last Nov for 4 trips and voila we got the free ticket! When all was said and done we got 4 trips to Florida and one to Baltimore for right about $400. What a deal!

I connected my Rapid Rewards account with the Southwest Visa card, 1 credit for each $1200 charged. In addition to credits for flights, the credits that come with the Visa card have gotten us 4 round trip vouchers from southwest in the last year and a half.

If you have AmEx Rewards program you can hook it up to SW Rewards. That way if you're short some points, you can transfer AmEx points and generate a ticket. I've done this several times.
