Southwest question

We booked our flights for Southwest a while ago. I just saw that they have a sale going on. Our flight to Orlando is more expensive but our flight back to New Orleans is cheaper. Do you get credits based off each leg of the flight or a total amount? Also is the credit transferable to someone else's name?

TIA!

It's based off each leg of the flight, so if your one leg is cheaper then you will get a credit. The credits, however, are non-transferable meaning you can't change the names on them.

Thanks! That's what they told me when I called SW. I now have a $46 credit for each person but we hardly fly anywhere! LOL

Yeah that's what happened to us last year we had about $85 in credit a piece after a sale and we never did use it by the expiration date. We only fly once a year!

Can someone tell me what would happen if I book flights for a friend and myself and we have to cancel. Can my friend access her credit even though it was booked under my credit card originally?

As I understand it...

Credits are issued to the person who's name is on the ticket. So your friend gets credit for her ticket and you get credit for yours.

BUT, all credits need to be used (travel completed) within one year of ORIGINAL BOOKING. So if you book today for a trip in December, then need to cancel (or get a credit for lower price), you need to complete travel using the credit by 10/28/2014.
