Southwest question

Hi everyone:

I have purchased tickets on SW for our trip to WDW at the end of June. Our older daughter just found out she will not be able to go with us. Is there any way we can do something with her ticket so we won't lose all of our money?

Is it possible to change it to a cheaper flight on a DING and get some sort of credit so we will only lose the price of the DING flight? We paid almost $400 for this ticket. If we are able to get some credit on it, will she be the only person who can use the credit?

You can cancel the flight and get a credit good for one year from the date that you booked the flight. So if you're planning on traveling somewhere within the next year, you can use the Ticketless Travel Funds.

Forgot to add, anyone can use the credit. All you need is the reservation number and credit card holder's name.

Thanks for the info! Do I call Southwest to get this done, or do I do it online?

Either. We've always done it online, and had no problems.

If you booked all the tickets together you need to call SW so that an agent can seperate her ticket from all the others on the ressies, this way you dont need to cancel and rebook everyone elses ticket.

Thanks again. Luckily, I booked hers separately because I had done the rest of the family earlier in the day. Of course by the time I booked hers, the lower rates were all gone, so we were paying a much higher price on her ticket. I guess it will work out, because the credit from her ticket should cover two tickets for a trip DH and I are taking next February.

If you can't use that Southwest fare within a year, towards the end of that year, call Soutwest and ask if they can extend it. They will give you six more months in the form of a travel voucher.
