We're traveling to Disney in Nov, returning Dec. So, when southwest starts letting you book for nov, would you just book a 1-way ticket to disney? Then wait til the Dec rates come out to book the return? Or would you wait til Dec rates are out and book all at once? I haven't flown at all in 6 years, and haven't flown Southwest before. Also, do they let you book seats at all, or how does it work with small children? Thanks!

let's see...

yes, i would... because that way if your fare goes down after you've booked it, you can use the credit from your outbound trip to pay for your return

Also, do they let you book seats at all, or how does it work with small children? Thanks!

nope, no seat assignments at all... you get boarded and select your own seats based on your boarding pass... the sooner you get your boarding pass, the better chance you have of getting on the plane first (you can download and print your pass from your computer 24 hours prior to flight time)

yes, you can pre-board w/small children under 5yo i believe... although i've heard that they lower that age for MCO bound flights 'cause half the plane has small children, so it might be 3yo and under...

also, swa has a great peanut allergy program in place for which we are very grateful and like to give them credit for it!

Well, as long as your return date is early Dec., the return flight should be released at the same time as your arrival date.

Here's there past schedule releases:
July 15/05 - open to Dec. 12/05
July 15/04 - open to Dec. 11/04
June 26/03 - open to Dec. 13/03
but it really is anyone's guess with SW lately!!!

HTH!!! :teeth:
