Trying to decide whether or not to buy our October airfare now or wait. The fall sales have started but they are not very good sales. Do we think the fares will get cheaper or not?

I'm booking with RR points, if the prices go lower and I rebook, do the points go back into my account?

Yes, the points go back into your account unrestricted. I got quite a few points back when my April/May flights went down.

If you're booking exclusively with points, I'm fairly certain that you have little risk if you book now. For price adjustments, you definitely get the points put back in your account (I've already done it twice for our trip next month). In addition, I believe if you outright cancel, you also get all of your points back as well.
