Hi everyone!

We fly out very early next Sunday! :cheer2:

Anyway, this is only my second flight ever...so I don't know what I'm doing, and we were hoping for a direct flight, but couldn't get one. My question is about checked luggage. We have a two hour layover at BWI. This might sound crazy, but I need to go and get my luggage and check it again at BWI right? Someone told me the airline would just put it on the next flight, but I couldn't find any info on that so I figured I would ask the experts...So what do I do about luggage during our layover? Thanks for any info!!!

Oh, and for DME all I need to do is put the yellow luggage tags on the luggage and not worry about it again until it's in my room at POR? It just seems so easy I feel like I'm missing something here...

You will check your bags when you check in to your first flight. SWA will transfer them to your next flight, you do not have to re check them. If you are using DME and the yellow tags you will not have to deal with your bags at all after checking in to your first flight. They will be delivered to your room that day.

swa will check your bags through to your final destination. Just put the yellow ME tags on before you check them at your home airport.

If your second flight is on SWA or AirTran then SWA will transfer your bag to the next flight. If the second flight is on any other airline then you will have to pick up your bags at SWA baggage claim and check it in at the new airline. Since your second flight is on SWA, and you are using DME with the yellow tags, once you check your bags in when you arrive at the first airport you won't see your bags until they get to your room at POR. It is that easy!

I can't believe it's that easy. Thanks!

Ok, I've got the yellow tags ready to go. Thanks!
