I am trying to decide between Southwest & Song out of Hartford in Jan 2005. The rates are virtually the same. Any opinions would be helpful. SW times are better but Song has TVs (I think in every seat) which is great for 3 little ones.
Thanks

SONG ALL THE WAY. You have your assigned seat and don't have to worry about rushing to get in line for that. I've flown on South west before and I didn't like having to get your assigned seat then. Plus, Song has awesome mini tv's in the back of the seats in front of you--there is even a trivia game you can play. I flew the first time w/them this past May and was very impressed. I PLAN ON USING DELTA SONG FOR ALL MY TRAVEL NEEDS.

Each one has it's fans. We love Song. Have flown it about 3-4 times now and had wonderful service each time. I really like being able to choose my seating beforehand. And the individual TVs for each seat are fun for the kids. We rented the movie for our dd, 11, on our last flight. Kept her occupied for the whole trip.

Does anyone know if their prices drop, do you get a credit like you do with SWA? I want to book for our Jan trip but not sure if prices will drop again.
Thanks

Another vote for Song here, if only for the assigned seating. Good food too, especially the fruit and cheese plate.

And if the price drops, you can get credit, but the change will run you $25 per ticket, so it had better be a sharp price drop.

Glad to hear the positive feedback about Song. Our 5 and 6 year olds are flying for the first time in Nov. We are all headed to Disney. I am so excited about the built in tv's. We got an incredible rate of $110 (inlcluding fees and taxes) roundtrip from Boston to Orlando!

I fly Song from BDL to MCO every time I go to WDW. My DS (11) loves the built-in tv's. Not only do you get tv shows, but there is a music trivia game, a "my flight" screen that shows you how far you have travelled and where you are. Plus assigned seats! If the prices are the same, fly Song.

I'm curious. If the price drops after you book, do you get your money back or credit toward a future flight? We are looking at BDL to MCO in April 2005 and would prefer assigned seats if the prices are comparable.

I'm not sure because the prices have never dropped on any of my tickets. I did have to completely change my flight with Song in June due to a relative passing away. It was a horrible situation; I had to rebook my flight to depart from ATL instead of MCO and take my son off the plane altogether, because he was going to drive back to CT with my parents. The Song representative was great. They changed my flight for $25 and when I rebooked my son's for a later date, again, I was only charged $25. I felt that Song really did a great job for me during an extremely stressful time.

Song is sooooo much better than Southwest! You get your own TV to watch and have the optionof buying food. Prices are usually close.

I think Song would suit your needs more if you have three little ones, but I vote for SWA. I just love the flexibility to change dates, cancel, and never having to worry about non-refundable. (I work for a large company that does alot of travel so I could always "sell" unused ticketless travel funds to them)

Thanks everyone. Just booked Song. I was hoping for cheaper rates but booked now before dates & times we wanted were taken. Kids are more excited for TVs on plane than they are for WDW I think!!!
