Southwest options

I have a Southwest voucher to use to fly to Florida, so alternate airlines aren't an option. We are sailing on the Dream on October 4 so I'm trying to fly into Orlando on October 3, and the pickings are already very slim. Has anyone ever flown Southwest into a different airport for Port Canaveral?

There are other options, but you would have to provide your own ground transportation. Next closest to MCO would be Tampa or Jacksonville about a 2 1/2 hour drive to the port. Fort Lauderdale would be about 3 hours. Melbourne is less than an hour, but I don't think Southwest flies there.

You might luck out if they start adding flights with travel starting to pick back up, but flight selection on all airlines seems to generally suck right now.

October 3 is the kick off of WDW 50th anniversary. Hopefully they will add more flights.

I recommend picking one of the slim option flights to MCO, since all of the other options are going to require multi-hour drives each way between the airport and cruise port.

Jacksonville is a straight shot down I-95 but you'd need a car. I would imagine a one way rental would be literal highway robbery right now.
