Haven't really been following along - is there anything new with the seating for SW operated by Airtran flights? We are currently on a SW flight but might possibly move to an earlier flight that is operated by Airtran. Is it still the situation where they assign the seats and you can try to change them at the airport? Our kids are teens so it is not a huge deal if we are separated but to us, sitting together on the flight is part of the fun of the trip. I didn't buy EBCI but if I did, how would that work?

Thanks - sorry for the confusing question. I was wondering if I book a SW operated by Airtran flight, how my seats would be assigned. Last I heard, they are randomly assigned at the 24 hour mark and you may not end up sitting with your group.

You can purchase assigned seats in advance or wait until 24 hours and let them assign them. The cost depends on the seats selected.
