Southwest offering refunds on EBCI for COVID-19 related cancellation

I also received a LUV voucher via email after working with a SWA agent via Facebook messenger. It was for the total cost of our EBCI. Notably, I tried talking to someone on the phone about this and they were unwilling to do anything for me. They told me they "weren't aware" of the LUV vouchers being provided. That's when I went to Facebook messenger - seems most reports I've read, people have had the best luck using social media. I was told it would take 14 days to receive the LUV voucher via email, but I received it the next day.

In our scenario, we will be rescheduling our early May flight to November. However, their November schedule release has been pushed back from late April to late May. Because of this, we are forced to cancel our May flight rather than change it, which would have allowed us to retain our EBCI. I'm not sure if they are giving LUV vouchers out across the board for EBCI, or only to those who want to reschedule but will not be able to because of the schedule release delays. Also, I now have multiple travel funds plus the LUV voucher to use, so I'm a little concerned I won't be able to use it all together since you're restricted to three forms of payment.

I called a representative yesterday and she refused to do anything for me. We canceled May Trip for October. At first we thought we were going to reschedule for November which we couldn't schedule yet so we just canceled May flights straight up. Then we found availability for October and changed our plans. By that time it was too late. Maybe I'll try calling again today.

All of the reports I have seen from people who have received a LUV voucher, they have contacted SWA through social media. I used Facebook, OP used Twitter. I would imagine the Social Media Team is separate from the call center reps, so I would suggest reaching out via social media as well. I was shocked at how quickly they responded over Facebook messenger. They gave me the option of 1000 bonus points or a $50 LUV voucher (equivalent to my EBCI cost). I chose the voucher - you have one year from the issue date to use it, and I intend to use it for my November flights.

Ok thanks I'm going to give it a try!
