Anybody have ideas why one way from MCO to MSY is so expensive? Flight hasn't dropped since we purchased beginning of June. Found it is cheaper on Delta etc. Can go from BDL to FLL for $88. What's up?:goodvibes:goodvibes

Supply and demand
And sw is no longer always cheaper than other airlines
That's become painfully true, especially on the Houston to Orlando flights!
Fare has tripled in the past two years!...(unless u catch a sale fare, but it is what it is, and nobody else in the family wants to drive.)

Thanks for all your replies. Unfortunately, did not get a sale fare. The flight at 12 noon was fully booked. I saw the fare jump up to $200 one-way the closer I got to my date. I stick with SW now because of my credits from other flights, and their no-bag fees. Thought about switching, but when you are a family of 4 and have checked bags, it becomes a selling point. Just got home yesterday from NOLA and took a flight which changed in Tampa and then onto Providence. The cost was $134 pp only $4 more.

Just as a side-note, TSA in Orlando is just ridiculous. PVD, BDL and MSY no problem.

Thanks again!:goodvibes:goodvibes

I was able to get round trip MSY to MCO $105 each way for my trip in September. I didn't think the price was going to drop below $145 but it did when they sent the last sale email at the end of July. I said I wouldn't fly to Orlando if I had to pay more than the awesome deal I got to fly to LA at the same time last year.
