I am looking at a Southwest flight in October that has a plane change in St. Louis. The layover time is only 50 minutes. That seems a bit tight to me, but I don't know the St. Louis airport at all. Is this sufficient time?

Thanks!

Have you checked out the airport's web site. It should tell you where the terminals are for each airline. In my experience it's not so much the airport but if the first flight leaves on time. That's usually dependent on the weather.

Personally I avoid any layover less the 60 minutes but might consider 50 depending on the time of year and airport. For example, BWI would be fine with that layover in good weather. The Southwest terminals are right next to each other. Probably no more than 10-15 minutes between the farthest gates.

We have had layovers in St Louis before and never had any issues. Southwest terminal area is easy to get around and gates are close to get to. Any issues would be if your first flight is delayed.

southwest has its own terminal "east" in Lambert Field in STL. Disconnected from the rest of the airport sans a closed d terminal.

There are like 20 gates. You can walk end to end in less than 5 minutes, on crutches.

So 50 minutes is plenty of time.

:rotfl2: Thank you!
