Southwest is Great

I booked flights online last week. A later flight was not available for our return flight so I took an 11:50am flight back. Was not too happy because it meant a whole day lost.

I checked yesterday since Southwest had added more discounts on 8/19 and I found the 7:15pm flight available at the same price.

I called and was able to rebook the flights that I wanted and the sales rep cancelled my other flights and gave me my ticketless funds to apply to the new reservation. I was so glad that I had cable internet since we had to do this over the phone and the internet at the same time.

Result was that I got the flights that I wanted and did not have to pay anything extra to do it. I love it.....

You could have done the entire transaction over the net. They now have a "change itinerary" button on the travel center page.

Glad they have a flight that makes your vacation better, and you are totally correct "southwest is GREAT".

I realize that I could have done it over the net. The rep said that sometimes you have to wait for your cancellation to be processed in order to book your new flights with tickletless funds. It was better to do the transaction with her involved so that I would not lose the flights that I wanted.

Got ya, but, when I changed mine, the credits are almost immediate. My daughter calls me the guru of changing reservations. LOL. The minute you get a cancellation code, the funds are available. Same as on her system. All in all, I am very happy you got them changed to something more in line with what you wanted.
