Southwest is giving 50,000 points again

I've had this card for years and love how points accrue so quickly. I'm trying to send the link to a friend but the one on page 2 takes me to a page that says it's no longer valid. Is there another link?
:confused3

The new offer is now 25,000 points after spending $1,000. Not a bad offer, but not as good as the original posters'.

I would have thought hte same thing - or even that you could never receive the bonus again - but I have read posts on this thread that it's been done - I'm not sure how many pages back it was - I read it about a month ago on here.

OK, I cancelled mine last summer, and got another card on Jan 31st. My first statement just posted yesterday, and the 50,000 points are in my account now :)

Hum, I've spent the $2k in the first month, and the regular RR points has posted to my account. I haven't seen the bonus 50k points yet; I wonder if that only arrives in my account after payment of the bill? Payment is due next week.

For my bonus points, it took a couple extra days to post on my account after the statement came. Didnt matter when I paid the bill. Just give it a couple days and then call if still nothing.

I finally got my 2k charged on the card (and just paid it off today, I might add :thumbsup2 ), and only have a couple thousand miles so far. I will check back next week to see if my 50,000 miles are in there.

Mama wants to go to Vegas!!!
:cool1:

Waiting (not so patiently) for my 50,000 points. My husband got his and we booked one way. I think my 3rd month closes today and the $2000 is spent. Hoping to book our return soon.:thumbsup2

Something to keep in mind: If you barely hit $2,000, the $69 annual fee you were charged does not count toward your total. If you exceeded by more than $69, then you will likely see the points show up within a few days. :thumbsup2

I had a feeling it may work like that. I went over by about $200 just to make sure.:goodvibes

My 50,000 points posted before I received my bill:). My account closed last week and the 50,000 points posted the day the account closed:)

I'll do that. The regular 1X RR points posted over a week ago and still no bonus today. I'll give them a call later this week if it still hasn't shown up.

This is such a sweet deal :) We used ours last year for a flight to Vegas for 1 and now our flights to Orlando for 3 in March will also be covered. We still have enough left for another flight for 1 to Vegas - and perhaps a quick jaunt to Chicago for 2. Best of all, I earned a Companion Pass last year so I fly for free!

Quick questions....

1. What exactly is a companion pass?

2. How do you earn one?

You have to earn over 110,000 southwest points within a calendar year. We applied for both Southwest Premier personal card and Southwest Business card. That got us 100,000 points. Then we spent another $10,000 (1 point per $1 spent)- I think we had a hefty tuition bill to pay off which worked out perfectly. Of course, you can take as many months as you need to earn the 10,000 points.

There are also other ways to earn the 10K points. Google some blogs to read up on it.

You get the companion pass for the rest of that calendar year and for the entire following year. We applied in the fall and qualified within a month or so. Used the companion pass on a trip to Vegas in November. What I like about the companion pass is that you can use it on flights redeemed with points. So we haven't spent a penny on flights.

110,000 Southwest points + companion pass for the price of 2 annual fees (Under $200). This works out to over $2000 in value.

Thanks!

It was all I could do to talk DH into opening one card so opening 2 will definitely be out of the question.
