Southwest "Infant Fare" ?

I was looking around on the Southwest site and I see they offer "infant fares". I tried calling the number for more info, but the hold time was over a half hour! Has anyone here on the DIS ever booked an infant fare? How much did it cost in comparison to the rest of your seats?

I think you'll find the online wanna get away fares to be a FAR better deal. The infant fares are usually on par with the ...whatever the mid-level fares are, I forget what they're called.

I checked on that myself b4. I was told that the infant discount is based on a full fare price. The Wanna Get Away rates are so much better.

I just called SW this morning. She asked me which airport I was flying to and from so it is based on the actual flights. Hartford Ct to MCO is $207 for infant. One way! She told me the wanna get away flights online are a better deal.

child fare was $318!

I think the only time that the infant fares are a good deal is if you purchase tickets within 2 weeks of your flight when all the "Wanna Get Away" fares are gone.
