Southwest group rates.

Has anyone used them? How did the fares compare to the other fares (non ding!) that were available at that time? We have exactly 10 people going so we may be looking into using the group fare 'hotline' to book.


Any experiences anyone has had would be great!

Look on flyertalk. Generally group rates let you change the name of a passenger and don't always require full payment at the time you make your reservation.

I don't think you get credit if the fare goes down.

There are 10 of us going to Florida in April. I called the group sales and spoke with a very nice rep that told me that her fares are quite often not as low as you can get from the website.

Problem is that there may not be 10 seats left at the rate you see on the web site.

The major advantage of the group rate is that you can change the name of the travellers at any time and you don't have to pay the balance owing until 60 days prior to the flight.

We booked as soon as the flights were released via the web site and got all 10 fares at the lowest rate.
