I live in the Sacramento area, and fly SWA frequently to LA. They only use 737's for their aircraft, which their theory being that it saves money because maintenance instruction is focused and dedicated to one aircraft, thereby becoming "specialists" so to speak. Their safety record is fabulous and they are, in my opinion, a nice little airline to fly...if you're not going to be on it long. I prefer a bigger aircraft when I fly long distance. That is why when I go in November, I am flying SWA from Sac to LAX and then Delta (767-400) to Orlando. After about an hour or so, I need some breathing room. You know? However, if space isn't an issue for you, you can't beat the price! And I will say this, they tend to be on-time - in my experience. Hope this helps you.
