Does anyone know how long a Southwest flight credit is good for?

I believe, you can buy an additional 6 month extension for $50 after it initially expires.

I am pretty sure it costs $100 now to extend a credit but you need to do it after the credit expires. Then I believe it becomes a voucher that can be used by anyone and not just the person it was for.

I haven't done it personally but I believe this is what I have read in the past.

Does Southwest still give you a refund on your credit card if the fare goes down on the same flight originally purchased? My flight just went down $4 (I know it's not much but every bit helps) on 7/23 so I changed it but it is the same flight at the same time that I originally purchased. A few years ago, I was able to get a credit on my credit card. I'm not sure if we will be going anywhere next year (want to re-do our kitchen so a vacation is out of the question). Thanks!
