We traveled to Fl. the other day and had two older gentlemen flight attendents that were putting on a vegas show. :rotfl2: They were talking back and forth and cracking pretty bad jokes. You know the ones that are so bad they make you laugh.
During the per-flight instruction they said, "If you would like to smoke you can do so on the wing and catch the movie Gone with the Wind." Also " In the event that your oxygen mask comes down and you have a child put your mask on first and if you have two children place the mask on the child that has the most potential first." Has anyone else caught their act. :mic:

We've also had them say during the water landing spiel "In the unlikely event we turn into Southwest Cruise Line, your seat cushion can be used as a flotation device..."

I know some people don't care for the "schtick" but I think its funny :rotfl:

always enjoy the SW comedy and relaxed nature of the employees... of course I flew over 200 flights a couple years ago with them so I got to see alot of the 'shows'...

"in the unlikely event of a water landing"..."if it was likely we would not have come to work today".

I got the rapper one time and also one that sang like Elvis.

Then there was the one back in the days when kids boarded first and were all in the front who told them to yell "faster, faster" so that the pilot would hear them as we sped down the runway.

Sorry for the rough landing - it is not the pilots fault, it is not the planes fault, it was the asphalt.

In the event you are sitting next to a child or your husband is acting like one . .

If you do not know how to fasten a seat belt, you probably should not be out in public.

It seems like we haven't had a good comedy show on SWA in several years. I miss that.

One flight we were treated to games. One game had each side of the isle trying to pass a roll of (new, freshly unwrapped) toilet paper from front to back, unrolling it as it was passed, trying not to break it. After the game was over, people at the far end of the isle had to try to roll it up to the front. Another game was just counting something in a cup (can't recall what we were counting but it was passed through the whole plane). I think there were several cups with the exact same number of items per cup to make it go faster since it didn't seem to take very long at all.

My favorite was - please stow all children in the overhead compartment. :rotfl2:

And it works....

All of you heard and even remember part of the spiel. Trust me, I can generally completely ignore the FA doing the speil, but SW's "act" will get my attention...

Although I did have a recent Delta FA say "After that landing items in the overhead HAVE moved" after we came down HARD. Everyone did laugh.

I've never had this with Southwest, but I'd love to. I am such a nervous flyer these days (anxiety) and making me laugh would sure divert my attention from picturing my imminent death:rolleyes1
I know I get too nervous but lightheartedness would be such a help:)

we had one say something along the lines of...

"Any unruly children or adults will be seated outside on the wing where the feature film will be Gone with the Wind"

DW and I had those two on one of our SW flights. A nice "departure" from the usual dry FAs. ;)

On our trip to Vegas they did a raffle. You put in your money with your name written on it and they drew who got the whole bag. It was fun.

I seem to remember the ones about children the most.

I have also heard the joke about giving the first oxygen mask to the child with the most potential.

I have also heard them say, “If you are traveling with a child, put your oxygen mask on first and if you are traveling with more than one child, I’m sorry.” I travel alone with my two so that one struck me as funny.

I think it's great that they try to make flying more enjoyable. I haven't gotten to see the skits, but I would enjoy the time and effort put in.

One flight the flight attendants were singing Christmas carols and when they ended passengers started clapping. One attendant came on the PA and requested we throw money instead. One passenger yelled out "We are on our back from Disney, the money is all gone!".

We have had lots of great SW flight attendants, we had the rapper too, he was hysterical!

I was flying SW once when there was a man on the plane who was celebrating his birthday. The attendant took the oxygen mask from the demo and put it on his head, securing the elastic band under his chin to make a "birthday hat." Then he had us all sing Happy Birthday to him.

My other favorite line is "Wear your seat belt low and tight across your hips...just like JLo."

I would also like to add that SWA has the best onboard magazine of any airline I've flown. I always look forward to reading it.

Last time I flew SW was last year to Vegas. I cant remember exactly what our F/A's did, but I do remember a few laughs.

We are flying SW in Dec and will have connecting flights each way, so perhaps we will get some entertainment :lmao:

I remember a few years ago, flying back from Orlando when the preflight speel was being done. The FA went throught the oxygen mask thing, put the microphone up to the mask, breathed hard a few times and said "Luke, I am your father". The voice was spot on and it was hysterical.
