My return fare back to Hartford went down $53.00 for my trip in May. I just went online and changed my reservation. Check your airfares. I was going to wait until tomorrow to change as it was almost midnight and I am tuckered out, but by tomorrow it could be up again. So excited as I plan another trip for October and now I have a credit.

Wait, what?! You can DO that?! I've never heard of such a thing! Granted, the last time I flew Southwest was to Vegas when I turned 21 but...

I am headed there at the end of September, and usually I put it off until the Tuesday of the 3 month mark (supposedly when it's cheapest). I also recently decided I wanted to fly Southwest because with being military, we may be getting orders to move soon and it seemed like they wouldn't give you hassle to change it.

Could you please explain to me a little more how this works, or how you can do this??

SW is the easiest airline to switch things around on, that's definitely true. No fees to change flights.

But it's only the only one that gives you a credit if your flight goes down in price, without charging a fee. Alaska makes it REALLY easy to do and they are obvious about it, and I believe Jet Blue does it as well (though they aren't so obvious). Dang, I am drawing a blank on the others.

Yes, Southwest is the best. It is easy to change, just go to their page go to the change flight link and enter your confirmation #and passenger name. Then select the same flight again. Put in res # and click change flight.
I LOVE Southwest!

Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!!!

I just rebooked two round trip flights from Orlando to John Wayne for our DCL cruise 9/30-10/7. Each round trip went down from 24,000 points to 15,500 points - and these were booked with the free 50,000 points we got for signing up for the Southwest Chase visa card.

The best part about booking with points - they immediately go back into your account with no restrictions - unlike a money credit that has to be used within a year.

I love Southwest :-)
