Southwest fare question

Does Southwest ever drop their fares after the flights are released? I'm asking because we booked $49 both ways for our trip last year, but for our trip this coming May, they only list $109 as the cheapest fare for several days around our dates. I expected to see a $49 or $59 listed (even if it's unavailable because other people already booked their flight at that price), but $109 is the cheapest price even listed. I hope this question makes sense! Thanks!

We had the same thing happen. Last year we went for $69 each way and this time it was 109 and no cheaper. I check all the time and I've yet to see it any cheaper. We leave in 7 weeks so I think it's probably not gonna happen

Just keep checking, you might luck out, and load DING. We've flown Southwest for all of our WDW trips, but our last trip ('07) we weren't able to get prices as low as they were in previous years ($59). Our dates aren't out yet, but we're hoping for $99. Good luck.

I book my flight as soon as it's available. Prices seem to be going up. I keep checking Dings. If they go down I cancel and apply my credit to the Ding. SW doesn't refund the difference but give me a credit good for a year. I aways have another trip planned. This coves me if the flights go up or the flight I want sells out. You can open 2 Southwest tabs on-line: have the Ding all ready to go (payment page), cancel your original flight then apply to your new one. Hint, confirmation # is credit #. I'm waiting for July to open now and I have $ 60.00 credit from December to apply. Have a great time!

We just got a good ding about 2 weeks ago for our trip at the end of Jan. we saved $100.00 which will go for our trip in Oct. Good Luck
