For those that can take advantage... Southwest Airlines is having a Fall Travel Super Sale for select cities and travel dates. It's a 72 hour sale ending on Thursday.

Just booked for September! $49 fare Sacramento-SNA.

There are some great prices and I could kick myself for not getting APs last November.

Thank you very much! We're going to the other coast but this price pretty much trumped driving and we get to extend the trip a little. I'm soooooo excited :cool1:

Thanks!! We are going on Friday but I'm trying to talk the husband into letting me book tickets for Sept. too!

AirTran (owned by Southwest) is also having a huge fall travel sale through Thursday, so check there if Southwest doesn't work for you. They fly to LAX.

(Sorry, don't have enough posts to make it a clickable link.)

Be sure to check both "Fall Travel Sale" and "More Flight Deals for Fall Travel." The prices aren't as good on the second link, but they are still low.

This may help for Christmas time...checking now

Thanks for this! I already had great fares on SWA for our trip this October. But this allowed me to fly into and out of SNA, rather than LAX. Cost me an extra $12 pp, which as it turns out is exactly how much we'll save on taking cheaper shuttles from SNA instead of LAX. So it's a total wash cost-wise, but we get to fly to/from SNA. Thanks.

Just booked our plane tickets for October! :cool1: Now waiting for the Halloween party dates to be released...

Wow. For that price it might be worth it to fly down! Um for those of you that fly often, would checking a stroller be considered the 2nd piece of luggage or is it an oversized item that they would charge extra for?

Unfortunately, the fares are still crazy-high flying out of Kansas City, around $350 per person. We usually get them for around $225. We can fly into Orange County for around $235 right now, but the times stink and there are massive layovers.

I hate this part of planning :sad2:

I am so trying to talk my dh into a August DL no kids trip.:lmao: What's the weather like in August, like the 20th:lmao:

It is warm, usually 80-90's and the passes come unblocked on the 20th, ought to be a big mess.

I agree. This part of the planning stinks big time. Unfortunately our plans are to come just after Thanksgiving so the sale does not apply to our dates.
We REALLY want to fly into SNA also being that people seem to by in large prefer this smaller airport. We may have to fly into LAX though if rates don't come down enough.

Darn, the sale is only valid starting 8/13 and my return flight is 8/12 :sad1:

Just booked $49 each way for Sept. 22 - 26th! My daughter turns two on September 23 so it works out perfectly! Thanks OP!

You might try American Airlines. The prices dropped this afternoon, probably because of the SW sale:thumbsup2. I was able to get flights out of Tulsa for $25 cheaper per person to SNA than with SW and the times are much better:banana: SW only has 3 flights on my return day:sad2:
