Southwest fall schedule

I think it depends on which week you are looking at -- our fall flights did not drop last year. I booked them the day they were released and watched and watched. No drop, no credit for me. I think SW has caught on that it's fall break week and many in my city are flying that week with specific dates in mind.

This may depend on your area too. For our cruise last Oct, we booked 1st day of release at $99. The return dates weren't available. A week later it dropped to $59. My friend applied her credits toward her return flight but I already bought our return on Airtran (love onboard checkin) also at $59.

We are using our credits, along with some others and 2 Rapid Rewards, to do our 3 day cruise next week & 1 day at MK. Between that and DCL's "kids sail free" special, then the GAD free ticket, I feel like we're getting a great deal.

Sometimes the stars align and it all just works out.

I hope everyone gets great fares or at least something we can live with. :goodvibes

Is it best to book the two legs of your trip separately? I have heard that is what you need to do so that if a Ding fare comes up, you can snag the one way ding fare and not effect your entire flight. Is that right? If there is a ding fare for only one leg of your trip, and you have booked it as a round trip, can you still take advantage of the ding price one way?

It does make it easier if they're booked as 2 one ways. Not sure if you HAVE to but to take advantage of a ding you must cancel (not just change) the original ressie then apply those funds to the ding. The leftover is yours to keep for future use.

I do. The one time I didn't, the fare went down and when I tried to re-book, it increased my other flight. I called and got it fixed easily (without spending a ton of time on hold!), but I think it's easier to book as separate legs. For someone who asked about prices dropping, I tend to book whichever fare is on or near a weekend first, then do the other later. Generally fares on Tu and Wed, and sometimes on Th will drop later on. With weekends, you're never really sure.

So, if we book the legs separate as suggested, we should only book one leg and the use the funds that are credited to book the second leg later on??

Can someone confirm what time the schedule will be available? 10AM, 11AM, CST? Tried to look on google with no luck. I am ready for tomorrow!!!
