Southwest fall fare sale

My flights had done nothing but go up since I bought them in Feb, and I didn't expect much because they are Sunday morning and Friday evening, but the Friday one went down from 7098 to 6180 pts! The Sunday flight is almost double the points I got it for.

No matter what sale, never as cheap as I got when the rates first posted. Good thing, flight has been paid for several months ago. Only time I had flights go down, was right before we left at the end of summer and a week or so leaving in December. So far, even my December rates are higher than when I first booked, like over $800 more for the 4 of us, and over $50 for my October trip.

I have 5 flights upcoming...one of them is cheaper:cool1: thanks for posting!

Slightly off-topic - I bought our flights for end of January as soon as SW opened the booking window. I bought a round trip itinerary instead of two one-ways. Our flight to MCO is now sold out, but I keep checking to see if our flight home drops in price.

But if it does drop in price, would I even be able to capture the savings on only one leg of the trip if the flight down is no longer available? It doesn't make sense to keep looking to save a couple bucks on the flights home if I would need to cancel our flights out to get them.

You can absolutely change just one leg of your trip. When you click on change flight, the system will allow you to choose which flight you want to change.

I checked the SW website late last night (once I book I usually keep checking a few times a week in the event the prices/points do go down) Only our return trip was down......but I ended up with close to 3600 points back in my Rapid Rewards account...and that was for just two of us......almost enough for another one way ticket!

for some reason, since they updated their website (the clouds background) I can't view my account details page..... I can look up trips, etc but there's just a big 'this is awkward' message....I can see my DH's account page just fine, anyone else have this issue?

I've been watching like a hawk sine I booked... still nothing. :fish:

My flight going to MCO on 11/21 just went down $30. That gives me $30 for a future flight and put back about 2600 points back into my RR account. I paid cash for me and my grandchildren and used points for my son and daughter in law. I am a happy camper.:flower1:

Our nonstop flights from Albany to MCO and back are $89 each way nonstop. Doing the really happy dance, I can't remember them ever being this low.

We booked from PHL to MCO in January for $62.00 each way..WOOHOO!

Still more than 90 days out and no positive changes for us either. I did buy for $100 less overall so I can't really complain too much. Hope others have good luck.

You could still check periodically. I'm less than 60 days out and mine finally dropped.

When we bought non-stop airfare from Indy for our trip next month it was $714 for the 3 of us. When I checked fares this weekend it was down to $648. I called and got the $22/person credit but I'm not sure we'll be flying anywhere by the time we have to use the credits (May 2016). Does anyone know what options there are for these credits? It's not a lot but I'd still hate to lose them.

I did get the SW CC and earned the 50,000 bonus points but I didn't use them for this trip. I was shocked when airfare was only $714. We paid almost $2,000 for airfare for our trip last October!
