Southwest extended dates!!!

Southwest just extended their dates to March 6th.

However, the discount code is not valid for anything past Jan.16th.

Thanks for the info Gail!!! But when I called, they said they were only taking reservations on the phone til 1/16 even though the computer was updated. How odd.

Just changed my reservations from Dec. to Feb. 2 -11.. Got the $99 each way rate (from Albany, NY) for the 3 of us and ended up with a $27 credit!!

The only thing I'm not happy with is the flight home.. Seems that the only non-stop evening flights are late - 8 pm - for the entire month of February.. Was hoping to fly out of Orlando at 6 pm.. I wonder why that is?

Anyhow - it was easy as pie!! Now if they happen to come out with an even cheaper rate (although highly unlikely), can I change it AGAIN?

Yes, yes you can change the dates as often as you wish, depending on availability of course.

I would not expect that for awhile. Earliest I would guess would be mid Oct.

Yep, odd, but, I never call and make reservations, I do it on the net, maybe their computers have not been updated yet.

Since I use Rapid Rewards, I have to call. Finally got through and got my tickets! It looks as though the flights are selling out very quickly for President's weekend!!!
My neighbor got her tickets at $161 each way and my DD's friend and her mom (who are supposed to be going with us!) refused to pay $161, so now they're out of luck - the flight is booked.

When exactly did they open up the dates? I got on at 10am Eastern time (wanted to check before we lose power from Isabel) and ALL the flight for Presidents weekend were gone from Baltimore! I couldn't believe it. What time does it change over. I checked it last night at 11:45!! Should I have waited 15 minutes and been able to get those dates. I am so stressed!!! We had to change our dates one day backwards!! But those I got for the$67 one way and it will probably work better because we will fly out on Saturday and I know the crowds will be heavy anyways!!

But now I have a friend who wants to fly down on Easter Sunday. so I know she won't have a chance if we don't jump on them as soon as they are released! So anyone know what time they change over?

I think I totally missed the boat, yet again. Was looking to get from PVD to TPA Feb 13-Feb 22nd. All that is left avail is $181 each way! Bummer Bummer Rats Rats.

Anyone out there think that other better fares*might* open up, as today was the first day these were all avail, or did I just completely and totally miss the boat?

Why don't they let you combine fares. For ex: they have a flight to Orlando available for $99.00 and on the way back all they have is the $179.00 fare.
Am I better off calling them? because we are leaving a few days before my nephew but going back home on the same day. We want the same flight back home.

You can combine most fares. I am not sure why you would call them, they see what we see, for the most part.

HI, I also called SW yesterday(Thursday) at about 10-10:30 and they told me they were only booking thru Jan.16th!! My internet connection was down and remained down most of the day.So last night I finally get on and just click on SW to check and they are BOOKING thru March 6th!!!AHHHHH!! I also was looking to get tickets for Feb. vacation and fly PVD to MCO. I was able to get tickets but ended up paying $340. per ticket. I also am leaving on Wed. at 1:40(I wanted Wed. pm) MY return date is Sat 22nd at 8:50pm.All low fares were gone for returning on Sat.2/21 and if you purchase a high price ticket for return they would NOT let me book a really low fare departing.(a screen came up telling me exactly which catagories I could book under). I cannot believe tickets went so FAST!!! Travel agents MUST have known the fares for SW were being released yesterday. Good Luck to anyone trying for good fares. I was online looking for a friend also last nite and thru Expedia she could have gotten $295.,but she was returning on Friday(Feb. 21st) Joan

did you try for flights to Tampa? Don't feel bad, all the tickets were unavailable two minutes after they opened up. TA's don't normally book SWA, so, we cannot blame them.

No Gail,I did not even think of trying Tampa!! I was so upset and trying to book SOMETHING before everything was gone!! I was still upset this morning just thinking about about it,but my DH made me feel better saying how glad he was that we had gotten the tickets. We went last Feb. and really had a wonderful stay!So today I call Member Services to book thru the Vacation Club with our points and I can only get 4 nites at OKW!! My 1st choice was BCV and my 2nd BWV. Now I am waitlisted for the other 6 nites at OKW and also waitlisted for all the nites at BCV and BWV! February vacation week is looking to be a very busy time at WDW!!! Joan

We are going the end of Jan/beginning of Feb. and had absolutely no problem booking a week in a one bedroom at OKW.
Let's hope your waitlist comes through, and try, for Tampa. It is a really easy drive to WDW.

I spoke to a Southwest customer service rep and he said even though the flights are up they have not finished tweaking the boards. The haven't downloaded all the info on the flights yet. He felt they should open up within the next week or two for the rest of Feb. They are booking up to March 4th. Just check the boards everyday until the codes open up. There won't be that many available. Hope I am helping here and not hanging myself!
