Can we print our boarding pass at 36 hr mark or do we have to wait until the 24 hr mark to print?

You have to wait until 24 hours to print. You can't even log in and see your boarding # until 24 hours.

Follow up question, do I NEED to print at 24 hrs to get a better boarding time if I have EarlyBird? Is there a downside to waiting?

No, you don't have to print at 24 hrs. You can wait until to get to the airport if you want.
